Idea for the Dyno Day. Please read and comment!
I would need to run this by the LSE crew to make sure we'd be able to do it but I wanted to run this idea by the members to see if we'd have anyone interested.
To kill some time between Dyno pulls while cars are benig loaded and unloaded and tied down I was thinking we could have a DSM Pull off.
Details:
Set up a DSM at point A. Have it tied to a rope and have a two man team pull it from point A to point B. It would be a short distance and it would be timed.
I was thinking we would have 5 two man teams for the event. The winners would receive a prize and be the only team given a solid opportunity to defned their win at the next event. Hopefully the summer bash at DB. If it worked, and there was intrest we'd have this every year. There would be no entry fee for the event. First 5 confirmed 2 man teams to post would be in once the event was approval, had intrest, and an offical thread was posted.
We'd also need a car that would be around for a while. Worst case we can use the Jeep, but then it's not a DSM. Lol It would be nice if that DSM had an easy and safe place to tie a rope to.
People would also have to sign a waiver for insurance reasons.
Post up if people are interested.
And hopefully LSE will chime in with an approval for this or PM me with a "You’re an idiot" which I will reply by going there and bugging Josh for another 8 hours to drive his car
Thanks,
Allan

Sounds a decent competition to me, as long as you all don't mind losing to a computer geek.
Note to self: put flubber on shoes that morning...

Yea, there'd have to be a driver, I think. someone to hit the bakes at the end.

Lets pulls a AWD with a welded VC in circles and see who wins.

Thanks for the quick replies thus far, We would have a driver in the car. Jana can, as long as it's the same person for every pull to keep the weight even. It would be a short distance so the car won't be going that fast.
We would need some more poeple to chime in so I know if we planned it I'd get a good odds of having 5 teams. And then if LSE makes it a go, we'd be set.

LMAO!
I am down for watching that one, you guys can even have teams of 5.
We could make it easy and maybe use john's chassis, but that would be to easy.

I think it would make more sense to push the car. Since most of us have, at one time or another, had to push a DSM onto a trailer, or into a garage.

Johns car would be the safest, but with that damn cage, getting in and out might not be so fun for the driver. lol
I think pulling would be easier so that we don't run the chance of someone pushing on the wrong spot and blemishing a car in any way.

You need Cher's old chassis that he went 11.3 in. That thing took 5 people to push. I wonder if all those locked up calipers hurt his times?

Hey Allan, just to cover your(Style's..) and LSE's butt, have every team sign some kind of injury disclaimer/release form. Back pain is a bizatch..

Geez, sounds easy to me. I've been pushing my car around by myself for years.
