Hey all,

Well it looks like the guys on the phones at SBR somehow got my order from 569 to an even 2000. I am just waiting for one more paycheck to seal the deal and was wondering if anyone had had any experience with them in the past. Good or bad, I just want to know what I would be getting myself into. Bad experiences please PM as to not start anything.

Thanks in advance.

PS Sorry to admins if this question doesn't jive with any other shop allegiances the board may have. Thanks for the space though.

I know people who have dealt with them, but i have not dealt with them. I've heard good things about them for everything they do EXCEPT head work. I heard their head porting is not as nice as other vendors, but other than that, i've heard good things about them dealing with anything else.

Theres a thread on tuners. It's got some good some bad. I personally, wouldn't deal with them. I know Nate Burgess got his turbo from them ... he's nb91Tsi on this board I believe.

I talked to them several times when I was purchasing my turbo. Really nice & helpfull. Sounded very profesional. I haven't ordered anything from them, so I can't say anything about their work.

I got my clutch and flywheel from them. I had it 3 days later. I just recently ordered some pistons and FRH intake mani from them, but am getting a little run around on the pistons. I can understand because they are custom pistons, but they charged me and told me they could get them. Overall I like them, it is just this piston thing. I would check out QPR first though or Elite. They seem to get some good prices on stuff too.

EVOIII 16G - 569 Shipped (No options, I figured I could get the flapper and porting elsewhere cheaper(QPR, Elite, friends))
SBR FMIC - 849
FMIC J-Pipe - 79
Walboro 255 - 109 (More than most E-Bay but want to not worry about any warranty issues)
Special Edition SAFC - 349 (I think)

I haven't seen any shipping charges yet but it is dollars shy of 2G...

Oh well.

Oh well.
Your paying too much for the 16G, AFC, and Walbro! There are places to get the walbro pump for 85+ shipping brand new. HOnestly the ACF is about $100 cheaper if you get lucky on ebay.

And for a 16G just to give you an idea of what I was going to do. I have a small 16G that's blown and in need of a re bilud. I called Forced Performance and they said $400 to rebuild it to support 400hp. Said it woudl be equivilent to a 18G. Now they didn't give me the specs and obviously you just don't bolt on 400hp, but $100 for the turbo that I paid and $400 to rebuild it is still only $500.

But this is just my opinion right now. I know we coudl match the AFC price and I maybe Shane can chime in about anything else that would save. Or some other options.

Not trying to push business else where, just giving options.

The turbo price is decent, same as FP I think. Does it come with the install kit? All the other stuff besides FMIC is overpriced though. The best deals on Walbro fuel pumps can be had from www.autoperformanceengineering.com and I would use eBay when it comes to buying an AFC. What are you planning for fuel injectors? I believe Shane has a set of 550cc for sale.

I would love to keep the business local though too. I opened myself up to adding the the Walbro and AFC because I thought it would get me a better deal on the whole package. I do like the looks of the Special Edition AFC and would be more than interested on any price QPR or Elite would offer. The Walbro I would consider buying on Ebay or elsewhere but can't find lower prices but on Ebay and am concerned about possible warranty issues(are there issues with this pump?) so would like to get it from an actual shop.

Now for the 16G I haven't been able to find a better price on the EVO version and kind of have my heart set on it.

Once again like I said I would more than love to keep the business local (I like to know the people I have to sue if something goes wrong, as one of my customers said J/K)....

Yeah I just checked, I found the same AFC for roughly 279 with next to no shipping. A walbro for 85 with little shipping too. I don't know I fwas looking at it wrong but that site you link to is around 104 with shipping.

I am told the car has 510's in it now(you can tell they are aftermarket) by the guy who refered me to the person I bought it from. Those should be fine, but I would like to get them tested before I put it all in.

Sorry about the link, they must have raised prices. Mine was only $86 shipped when I bought one. 510's will be fine for pump gas, but not for race gas.

Allan, about that turbo they said they would rebuild for you. Is that a price they'd offer all of us? or is that a price that you get for being an actual business? I'm guessing they would make it into their so called "sleeper 16g" they advertise? anyways i was just curious. take care

I call as an individual on that. I asked what coudl be doen with my small 16G for more power and fast spool. Referanced it being used on a Rally car since I know they had built some for that in the past and he said it would end up suportting 400hp and cost about $400.

And if anyone cares I have that same blow 16G for sale, $100 picks up locally. PM me.

that seems like a pretty good deal for someone on a budget! i might have to consider something like that in the future. I planned on going with a PTE 50 trim, but if i could do something like that in the future, i might have to take that into consideration. I do like the look of a big turbo sitting in the engine bay, but it'd also be cool to have a turbo where most people will think its just a 14b, but its really not!! did they share any info about its performance besides the 400hp rating? like cfm ratings, spool time, just anything u could share would be groovy!
