Vikings & Culpepper
I didn't watch the game but I caught the highlights. Has anyone heard if Culpepper will be out for numerous games or the rest of the season? Tough loss. Don't feel bad. Our Packers suck shit! I pretty much give up on them this year. At 1 & 6, they will never make it to the playoffs. I'll have to root for some other team this year that actually puts a little more effort into their games.

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
It sounds like he will be out for a while, the rumor is 3-4 weeks minimum.
This could actually be a good thing though. Brad Johnson can make decisions better than Daunte, but he doesn't have Daunte's arm.

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
Yeah true. You guys had another backup QB at one time, wasn't it Randall Cuningham? If i remember, he was pretty good and took the team quite a ways. That must have been 3 or 4 years ago. I can't remember the details though.

It's so weird how good teams come and go. I can remember years back when the 49ers were actually a threat. That would have been the Steve Young days.

You mean the Montana, Young, and early Garcia Days.
I don't think people realize that the Vikes had their best team with Culpepper, Moss, & Smith where there was the threat down the field which opened up the run game. The Vikes haven't scared anyone this year like they did with Moss.

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
This taken from StarTribune--
Almost certainly, Culpepper will not play again -- outside or inside -- until 2006. An MRI performed today is expected to show a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and team officials are concerned about the possibility of damage to other ligaments and possibly the bones around Culpepper's knee as well.
"If it's as serious as it appears," Tice said, "it's devastating for our football team."

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
Yep, them days.... I enjoyed watching them back then. I went out to San Fran and watched the Packers play the 49ers a few years back. Sat in the miserable frickin' rain. At least we won. Garcia was the QB for 49ers at that time.

Johnsons slow too, but a better pocket passer. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

When I saw that I grabbed my knee. It looked just like what I did to mine. It's now 2 months later and I'm almost back to full duty at work. I think he's done this year.

LOL, They actually just happened to be the first team I saw play either the Packers or Vikings on local TV in IA. I got to be a huge fan of Ronnie Lott and Charles Haley, Craig, Rice, Taylor Montana just added to it
I've been a bleeding Gay Tan colors since.

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
Hate to say it, but in their division they actually might have a chance with Johnson. He's got nothing to lose at his age and everything to gain if he wants to play anywhere ever again. Look for a serious change.

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
Sometimes it turns out that the backup QB is better than their lead starter QB. Look at Look at Marc Bulger and Kurt Warner a couple years back. When Warner went out with injuries, Bulder did better than Kurt was doing. Sometimes I wish we'd get a new QB maybe even a new coach. Shit! sometimes I wish we had a whole different team.
Where did Brad come from, Tampa Bucs???

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
Wasn't Brad the starting QB for MN in '98? Then he got injured and Randall Cunningham took over, then Jeff George, then I think it was Cullpeper. So now that Daunte is down, Brad get's his starting position back.

Re: Vikings & Culpepper
Ya, the Vikes had a thing there for awhile with picking up old vet QB's. We had McMahon and Moon start for us a ways back. Then Johnson was our starter until we picked up Cunningham.
