Mitsubishi? Nah, I'll take Toyota's rich brother!!

My new (used) Lexus IS300, 5spd Auto, almost stock except for a CAI. Hopefully I'll slap an exhaust in soon, and then from there, who knows!!

Woot!! I'm back!

Nice car, but please don't ruin it with a loud exhaust that will get you ~2whp.

How about a magnaflow exhaust, and if its too loud I put another resonator in it?

Sounds like you should stick to DSMs or maybe a sweet lumina Z34

Magnaflows are generally on the tamer side volume wise, I'm sure it will be fine. This thing is supposed to be a pseudo luxury car though, why are you wanting to mod it?

Luxury on the inside, speed on the outside??

I don't think a cat back exhaust and headers is going to kill the luxury of it too much, especially not if I keep it tame, hence the choice in magnaflow vs an N1 style exhaust.

Besides, look at Andrews car

What andrew has done to his car and his car in general isn't like yours.

He didn't want to put redneck pipes on his shit, magnaflow is one step above the fart cans.
Get out and research some quality sounding and performing exhaust, also if you want to compare to andrew maybe make some power. 500 whp in anything isn't easy.

Pretty sure andrew didnt have a say in the pipes that are on his caddy.... And also, Im sorry, but I'd rather not spend 2k on an exhaust when I can spend $600 and get one built by a company Ive had great luck with in the past.

And the comparison here between my car and his is that his is also a luxury car gone rouge, so why not mine?

Actually... what is your deal?? Are you that hard against Magnaflow?? Did they touch you in a bad place one day, or insult your mom?? I mean... wow.....

So far just with the intake it sounds pretty vicious, so I'm really hoping that this exhaust works out, if not, I'll mod it till it does.

Re: Mitsubishi? Nah, I'll take Toyota's rich brother!!

I'm against having to hear shitty cars. Plus 2JZ is an amazing sounding engine so you should do it some justice and pick something up that is on par with that motor.

I'm not against you, if I can help I will.
Magnaflow is just trashy shit, not like corsa or other good brands.

Re: Mitsubishi? Nah, I'll take Toyota's rich brother!!

If you can find me a Corsa exhaust for a Lexus IS300 then let me know, otherwise the options I've seen are HK$, Tannabe, Greedy, Apex'i, and some other ones that all use N1 style mufflers.

Magnaflow is the only one so far that includes an upstream resonator, so far that Ive seen, besides tannabe.

Nice car. Beautiful color too! I don't see why everyone hates magnaflow that much. Its not an HKS or Greddy, of course, but if kept at reasonable loudness, it can sound pretty good.

Re: Mitsubishi? Nah, I'll take Toyota's rich brother!!

I don't think you can tie a brand to a good sounding exhaust; some magnaflows sound great on certain cars, some of the best sounding exhaust I have had was generic off brand shit. Saying a Corsa Exhaust is going to sound the best on his IS300 is dumb, sure the fitment will be a lot better with some of the higher quality stuff but sound is determined by many factors of the motor/exhaust combination.

Cut the resonator out, get a fart can and going dippin on Uni....

Try again. Lifetime warranty, quality design, non-ricey sound, and one of the few brands that isn't over-priced. Unless of course you think that the exaust on my X, Schiedes' X, and SimulatedWood's X is trashy. Take some Prozac man. You hate on EVERYONE for no reason. Well, actually I'm pretty sure I know the reason, but I'm not going to open that can of worms in a public thread.

Haha, thank you for the Magnaflow love. I have heard some of the dumbest brands sound amazing on certain cars, again, its all about how you do it up.

Blizzard... no, just no lol

And Goodhart, patients is a virtue.
