Winter DSMs, how is it?

How is it driving a DSM year round, i have done it for years so i have no clue.
When i did the crank pulley separated and i had to fix it on the driveway in the snow.
But i just wanted everyone's opinions on it, cause next year i plan on getting rid of my other car and keeping the talon.

THanks
Aaron

It's fun in winter as long as something doesn't break and you're freezing your ass off trying to fix it. But just make sure you put a coat of wax on once or twice and wash it at least once a week or it will rust like mad. Power wash the wheel wells and underbody once a week too. Salt = DSM death

Re: Winter DSMs, how is it?

I love driving mine. The only thing that could make it any better is a decent set of snow tires.

Re: Winter DSMs, how is it?

I would love to get a set of ralley rims for the car with a good set of snow tires!! I have street tires on there right now and I still can't believe the traction!!

I am still in the battle of figuring out if I want to park the car or not. The car is fun as hell to drive. Much better then my FWD eclipse. During the snow storm on tuesday a while ago, I had no problem driving around.

However I don't know if I could stand the site of watching it rust in front of me... On the other hand, that would be a good excuse to go out and buy another car...hmm...

Need more input from people

Re: Winter DSMs, how is it?

I am at the point where i really want another car so if the DSM did rust in the next couple of years it would just make me cooler for having an 11 sec daily driver.
But next year the plan is tranny, undercoat and maybe paint if i get lucky somehow.

Re: Winter DSMs, how is it?

As long as you keep it washed and waxed, you won't have too much of a problem with rust. Unless you have the 1gb talon body panels with the caps that cover everything up.
