ignition-timming

I'm trying to set the timing on my new 6bolt. I got everything to set the timing except i can't find the harness to ground. I'm working on a 97 GSX. So where is the harness that i need to ground? *EDIT* 97's don't have a ignition timing harness. Thus you need a logger to ground it instead.

Re: ignition-timming

If you are using DSMLink or an AEM EMS you can do it. 1Gs CASs cause too many problems to be used reliably on 2Gs without something like DSMLink to turn off the errors that come up.

I'm setting base timing. I know there are problems. Maybe a missfire problem but all i want to know right now is where the ignition timming harness is. This should be a easy one for someone that has done it.

Re: ignition-timming

Sync it with the timing value from an OBD2 datalogger.

Re: ignition-timming

You don't need a logger or a dsmlink. You can pull the FP relay/fuse, and set it to 5 deg during cranking.
