Switched to Mobile on the last oil change and its not good for lifter tick at all.... sounds like the car rusn with no oil when its cold and takes along time to warm up and stop the ticking.

I used to use Castrol Syntec and that was much better. I am going back to it next oil change. Unless there are some better synthetics that I could use that dont cause to much tick.

Never tried amsoil... Its much more money than the even mobil.

the problem with amsoil, or even mobile 1 in some cases, is people start using it on a car with 150k (that's never seen synthetic) on it and think it's going to make the car faster or something. what happens.....the detergents in the oil clean out the engine deposits that are actually helping to seal everything up.

Redline makes high quality oils and lubricants. I am not a big fan of Amsoil, the problem with it is its a homegrown oil basically made in a barn....aka no quality control to assure you that the "10W-30" you are buying is actually a 10W-30. The reason that the oil never comes out the exact same as the previous batch is because its mostly hand-made, compare this to someone making cookies. They will always taste slightly different since the recipe is only as accurate as the person measuring and adding the ingredients. As most of you know...I swear by Shell Rotella-T oil for my engine.
