I have a friend that just put a hahnracecraft 16g turbo on his non turbo eclipse. The kit came with bigger injectors and fuel pump. I mentioned that he should dyno the car to make sure a/f ratio is not to lien or rich, but he said no. The kit also came with a adjustible fuel pressure regulator so he can run a vacuum line to the regulator. I think his set up is good for 8 pounds of boost. I laughed when everyone said he does not need to tune the car and everyone around me looked serious. My question is do you guys think he is fine without managing the a/f ratio with out an afc or something or am I missing something? Doesn't he need to manage the a/f ratio after spending so much $$$ and make sure he is not to rich or lien at wot?

Did the people around you all own hondas? Do they have type-R badges on their camrys? TUNING IS WHERE THE POWER IS! Any idiot can put parts in/on their car (except me). Tuning is where you can not only make power, but where you can get the most performance and the most fuel economy. Ask any of the people on the board making big or bigger numbers. Jet and Nash don't have fast cars on accident.

Think of it like this, go fast parts without tuning is like pissing in the wind, it gets the job done, but there are better, smarter ways of getting it done.

To get the most out of his car he will want it tune, unless he wants a blown engine.

This coming from a guy who has a turbo 420a doesn't surprise me. Most that I have seen run like shit because the owner has no idea how to tune the car. all they know is how to turn up the boost controller.

I remember one night last year when Carey raced some dude who was running 10+ PSI on his Hahn setup, man it was slow. Nice guy but I don't think he had a clue about his setup. :naughty:

First they buy a non-turbo 2G Eclipse. Then they want to go faster. But after reading every where and everyone telling them to sell it and get a turbo version, they still end up turboing it. 75% of the time it is also an auto. Some of them even have the motor fully built in hopes of someday breaking a 12. It isn't worth trying to reason with them.
