So there has been this yellow Lancer driving around my work in Bloomington lately. It has exhaust and graphite looking wheels. I swear to god it sounds turboed, but cant completely tell. He always drives by and lets people hear him spool, and then blowoff. It really only sounds like he is running a few pounds of boost, as it comes on really fast(he isn't really going anywhere while I can hear it) and doesn't sound like it is that high in the RPM range. You can clearly hear it from 500 feet away.

Just wondering if anyone knew this guy/car and what it's packin.

Or if it is just some really good turbo emulator.

Did it have any graphics on the side? There are two turbo'd Lancers in the Cities, both were recently at the MNSC dyno day at Elite.

It could be the EVO 8 RS model that looks like it is a non turbo one.

Thers one that lives in Farmington. But it has a black aftermarket hood, LANCER across the top of the windshield, and checkered flag vinyls on the sides.

There are for sure three turbo Lancers in the Twin Cities and I think there is a fourth one almost done. Mick has a white one with a carbon fiber hood. He put down about 180hp at Elite. There is a black one that looks stock from the outside except for the front mount. I'm not sure what the third or fourth one looks like.

But the yelling Chris Cabe is right. The three or four of them will be at the All Mitsu Cookout. :woowoo:

later,
Curt

Yeah I have seen the black one too. It took me awhile to figure out what it was.

Seems a lot of work for 180whp...

I think the turbo Lancer has more poetential than that. I saw the dyno run when Mick's white turbo Lancer did the 180hp. It cut out on the top end. Maybe Shane will chime in, he was running the dyno. I think that Lancer would have been in the 250hp range if everything was running right.

Personally an EVO is more appealling, but those turbo Lancers sure have the sleeper look.

Curt
