Took out an 04 350z Convertable. Absolutely pimp. The six speed is nice, good power all around. The top up and down is nice with a hard cover. Carbonfiber boot. I drove a touring model with the 18s and little bit firmer suspention. It drove great handled sweet. Did I mentioned I liked it? Vented seats ect. It wieghs in at 3200lbs and has 287 horse and 274 lb-ft from a 3.5 V6. If only I had 40k plus tax title and licence. (limited production, no deals)
You get many, many looks from many very hot ladys driving this thing. It was non-stop for my 20min ride.

I drove a RX8 for a bit. It was a really nice car and the interior was sweet. It shifted good, but a tad notchier than I thought it would be. Handling was excellent (one thing Mazda has down pat on all their cars). It was down on power though. It was a 6 speed and I lit the tires up for about 10 feet on the launch and barked them on the 1-2 shift. The engine was really smooth and linear, but there wasn't much up top, which suprised me for a rotary.

Now that you mention it I drove an Kia Amanti from Atlanta to Savanna to Hilton Head and back the weekend of the 25th on June. The interior was as nice as my Audi. It had a six disc in dash and an Infinity sound system. The interior was nice the cabin sound level was low. It had a five speed auto that was a little hard to get used to. You would floor it and wait five seconds before it would drop three gears and give you the wrath of all 12 hampster power. Seriously, it was a nice car with alot of room, just no pickup. If you wanted a nice driver to comute with it wouldn't be a bad car at all, just no power.
BTW it was a rental we picked up with ~800 miles. We dropped of four days later with ~1600.
P.S. We called it the Kiajuar.

Turbo Miata - most fun i've ever had in a car
Chrystler Crossfire - If I ever own one of these I'm setting myself on fire. I will deserve it. I could make a long list, but I think the in dash tow button says most of what needs to be said.

2004 Acura RSX Type S Courtesy White Bear Acura
Very good top end. Poopy below 4000. Great shifts, and a responsive, yet comfortable suspension, allowing good cornering. Seats are a bit uncomfortable, and there is no room for the back seat passengers. Appointments inside are nice, and much to be expected from Acura.
Underpowered yet refined from the Integra
The ugly girl from HS who turned hot in College
2002 Ford Mustang GT Convertable Courtesy Rosedale Dodge (Joey)
Sloshy transmission. Very cheap inside. Great low end torque. A very comfortable ride. Top end leaves a little more to be desired after the initial shock from the low end torque. Overplayed and underdeveloped dash and interior ergenomics.
Torquey and cheap looking. Give me a 5.0
The fat ugly girl who beat you up in kindergarten.
2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Courtesy White Bear Superstore, Pontiac GMC
No manual tranny available :razz2: Immediate, but inadequate power from an oversized power plant. Plenty of room for 3 girls, although it's a Grand Prix, so most likely 3 fat guys from your dorm. Love the heads up display, although I'm used to looking down anyway. Turns like a cast iron stove.
Great mid range power, crappy handling.
The date you were assured action til you found out she had a penis.
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII Courtesy the dumbass at Forest Lake Mitsubishi
Holy crap. Noticeable turbo lag. Seats aren't for the cursed with bony asses. Interior is clean and strait forward. Nothing you don't need. A little more cramped than I thought it would be, but hey, it's a lancer at heart. Suspension, transmission, top end all more than I can handle.
Awesome car, a little pricey. But cool. Wing is a little big
The really hot girl that wants you for sex, but makes you buy her dinner first.
2005 Lamborghini Gallardo.
just kidding.
2004 Scion Xb Courtesy White Bear Toyota
Although I wasn't allowed to drive it, who needs to. 107 hp, and a van like stance. No thanks. Great head room, excellent leg room. Lexus comfort seats in a Saturn package. Lots of crappy non performance minded warranty covered upgrades. Great for high school kids. Fully loaded under 15 g's. I'd drive it. If I had to.
Great affordability. Stylish package with a lawn mower engine.
Your sister's lesbian friend.
I have a few more. We'll see if they pop up in this thread first.

2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
Very good response, pretty torquey. Reminds me a lot of the Mustang GT. Handling sucks, but it turns on a dime. The car is heavy, but is rated somewhere between 230-250 hp, depending on what your department orders. The thing takes a beating. Top end is ridiculous in these cars. Unless you're doing 130 in the opposite direction, driving a 12 second car....
FORGET ABOUT IT.
This thing would run down a lot that you wouldn't expect.
And the speedometer on the car I looked at, made for the watch commander, tops at 180.

04.5 Volvo S40 T5
this is a pretty small car if you are not used to being in one, feels like my head is going to hit the top, and arm space seems cramped when someone is in passenger seat. very comfortable and supportive seats, and the interior is done very nice.
has alot of pickup, barely touch the throttle and it takes off. not much power after that. has a great stock stereo, CD's on dolby mode sound very good and has some real cool effect that i like.
handling is go cart like(for a volvo) and is very responsive during abrupt manouvers.
i really like it, but wouldnt be paying 30k for it
the manual AWD T5 should be here soon, that will be fun...

lol thanks for the heads-up...I guess the days of 130mph 'top speed' on police cars are over..
I haven't had time to test drive anything, and any salesperson with a brain wouldn't let me near keys.

I have driven some really nice cars at Rosedale Dodge when I worked there...
199X Viper GTS ACR - Awesome car, very fast, great handling, but one of the notchiest transmissions I have ever felt.
199X Viper GTS - Same deal as above. ACR has better suspension.
20XX Maserati - Really fun car to drive. Handling is insane and it was an F1 style paddle shift.
199X Ferrari Modena F1 - Wow! Again a paddle shifted manual. Handling and power were off the charts. The sound from the v10 directly behind your head was enough to make you cry. 100k+ well spent.
199X Mecedes SL 500? - Whichever Mercedes is there sports car. I loved this car. Luxury on the inside and all power on the outside. The color was questionable though, it was like perrywinkle or something.
199X Plymouth Prowler - Fun car to drive due to the wow factor of onlookers. With a 3.5l HO the car lacked balls, but made up for it with style. Tight handling and no balls.
199X Corvette c5 - Fast, great handling, incredibly comfortable even while doing 130+ on Old Hwy 8.
I am sure there were more, but this is what I can think of right now. A small fortune in cars none-the-less.

I did forget to mention one...
The newest model of Viper. The SRT-10 or whatever they are calling it these days.
The new viper DWARFS the older viper in every aspect. The interior was a step up, the transmission was smooth as silk, comfort level was high. The car was a 10 overall. If anyone is gonna buy a viper, buy the newest model.

Spoke with a friend at the bar tonight...
For those of you who don't know, when you become a State Trooper, the state gives you a take home car, with your choice of options.
There is a trooper that does 35 E area between 494 and HWY 36, and everything near there. He drives a Tan Ford Taurus, unmarked.
It's a special variant with the 4.6L V8. The guy is a motor head, and knows a lil sum sumthin about cars. Thus, a supercharged patrol car.
The stop lights (red/blue) are mounted on the rear of the fold down sun visor on the passenger side, and are activated by just flipping the visor down. The car is otherwise completely stock looking.
This is a new car, and he's fairly new to the game.
So watch out southeast metro.

lots of S2000's: love the cars, VERY fun, a true sports car, handling is insane and everything just seems to be such high quality.
'92 Stealth TT: its a big DSM....only a lot nicer. Lets call it the rich uncle. Impressive power and good handling.
'04 Saturn Ion Redline: fun supercharged car, a bit pricey considering the market, but the interior was quite nice, it had decent power and I was happy with the suspension on brakes.
'04 Scion tC: decent for the price I guess, but the suspension and brakes completely sucked on the thing. Like someone else said, a Scion would be a perfect high school car with all its useless little gizmos and "upgrades".
'03.5 Mazdaspeed Protege: I really like the car, especially at $18k since its not an '04. Enough power to have fun with and handles amazing considering its a stock FWD car. Sway-bars and LSD deffinately did their job.
'04 Mazdaspeed Miata: this was by far the most fun car I have ever driven...the thing was crazy fun! Too small to be a DD. It was more forgiving than the S2k in the corners, but the S2k would deffinately leave it behind in the twisties with a compotent driver.
Lots more but I am tired of typing.
