North Texas Evo Club Dyno Day 10-3-2010 @ Cobb Tuning Plano

I thought you guys might be interested to see how our dyno day went down here seeing as you guys had one as well.

The day was great. Awesome turnout and great results from all the cars. I took pictures a lot of pictures as always so I'm not going to link all of them here. As always you can check them out at my Flickr account here:

I'm actually a little surprised by all the stock turbos.

Yeah, E85 is not as common down here. Stations are few and far between for most of us.

Thanks for posting!

My X was a disappointment, but my old IX claimed 2nd highest WHP of the day and I believe now holds the stock turbo pump gas record on Cobb's dyno.

It's around, only one guy who hit the rollers yesterday was on it though (Supraboy1...but he also had a pump gas run which I believe is what's listed above). If you take his E85 #'s he would have been 3rd most powerful for the day after MWilliams and my old IX.

Nice! I like how you guys put together a list with mods and other data, something we should adopt here at style dyno days. Is the data entered into cobs database or is that all collected after the fact and using sign up sheets?

Cobb has an online database that you can use to see your dyno graphs and also lets you compare graphs of different cars. Only problem is they have to enter the data themselves which they probably haven't done yet.

As for the results and mod list I posted, I did that all by hand. Just a simple Excel spreadsheet. I PM'd everyone to get a mod list and tracked down a couple guys at the event to get their mods as well. So it was a manual process, but worked well. The only problem I had was taking pictures AND keep track of the mod lists and dyno results. Not very fun carrying around a DSLR camera and a laptop.

I actually changed the original spreadsheet I made last night so that it's easier to work with so now we can reuse it whenever we want though. I have the updated version on my home PC though, but once I clean it up, make it look nice, and turn it into a template, I'll make sure to attach it to my first post so you guys here on 'Style can use it in the future.

Kevin said he'll have them all up within a week though!

First post has been updated to include a zip file with the Excel Spreadsheet template (.xlsx extension once unzipped).

Re: North Texas Evo Club Dyno Day 10-3-2010 @ Cobb Tuning Plano

Cobb posted all the dyno charts in their online dyno database.

http://plano.cobbtuning.com/dyno/index.php

Select [Cobb Tuning - Plano] then [2010 NTEC Dyno Day], then whichever car you want to view. Hit the [+] button to overlay two cars. If the graphs don't appear make sure the check box is selected.

Ryan Turner is the owner of my old IX (never mind the wrong picture).

Re: North Texas Evo Club Dyno Day 10-3-2010 @ Cobb Tuning Plano

Sunday at the dyno was the first time I've missed the IX since I sold it. Frankly, it owned and came away with the 2nd highest power of the day behind a FP Red X. I'd love to get my X to that level without aftermarket cams, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Stock turbo on pump would be tough, even with meth.

Yea, I think the stock turbo would hold you back more so than the cams. Although, the cams would get you the midrange power you want.

From what I've seen cams work on stock turbo on pump. They don't do much for stock turbo on E85. With upgraded turbos they become optional again. Bang for buck is definitely turbo from where he's at. A Green/BBX lite would be great on a driver.

Funny you should mention that. Kracka and I were actually discussing that yesterday, lol!
