MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

We had this build thread going on EvoM already, but thought we should keep our locals in the loop as well. Here we go....

At MAPerformance we have big plans for the 2010 race season We have acquired an Evo 8 chassis that will be used to showcase our abilities with the platform. Needless to say, we are out to break some records Don't forget to subscribe to this thread so you can follow our progress.

Disassembly has already started, body panels have been sent off for paint, and the machine work for the engine has already started. As always fabrication, machine work, and assembly will be done in house.

Re: MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

Well to go along with the Mishimoto radiator that we posted pictures up of a little bit ago we have started fabrication on our radiator placement. We have decided that we would like to mount our radiator in the location of the factory a/c condenser. Here are some pics of the front end, and some pics as it's getting cut into.

What it used to look like...

And now...

More to come...

BTW, I got a chance to look at the core that ETS sent us, and what a beautiful piece of work. That's again Michael, we can't wait to fit that baby in the bumper.... or maybe fit the bumper around it.... that may be more appropriate

Re: MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

One of the things we have been waiting on is to get some parts back from paint, so we can get everything mocked up, trimmed and in place on the front end. Parts came back from paint yesterday, so it's time to make some progress.

Shaved corner markers...

Evo 9 front bumper...

Shaved trunk...

Re: MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

Final fabrication of radiator, and intercooler mounts was taken care of last night. Here are a couple of shots with the bumper on and off. The core sure fills the bumper nicely

Re: MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

Haha, ok fine... I use the term "final fabrication" lightly because Kyle comes up with new ideas all the time. Here are some pictures of the intercooler with ALL mounting points on. The bottom has tabs that go back to, and bolt onto the rounded piping you see. Also, we've added the mounting points on the side as well.

Re: MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

Here are some pictures of some of the fab work that has taken place in the last couple of days. Kyle mocked up our manifold, and intercooler piping today. It's starting to come together.

Re: MAPerformance's Drag Evo Build

We wanted to get some pictures up of the work that we did on the head for our Evo. This is our Stage 5 port work. Click on any of the pictures to be linked to our site to see what all is involved in our stage 5 porting. Please focus more on the porting skills of Bob who did the porting, and less on his photography skills
