t04b v-trim question

I have a 1990 talon tsi awd. I just got a bullseye power t04b v-trim. I know I need an ss oil feed line. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the stock oil return line will work or if I need to get an ss return line as well. thanks

will the stock banjo bolt oil feed line work? I do not believe so.

Just buy the SS line.

Make sure to attach the SS line to the oil filter housing, you will get greater oil pressure to the turbo, which is better. (i think)

Just an FYI, those turbos are junk. I'd encourage you to read some of the stories of those POS's on Toonerz. Mike Huml from Slowboy even classified them as low quality or something of that nature.

I know the oil feed line won't work and I'm getting an ss one. I was asking about the oil return line. If that would work

I've done some research and haven't really found much bad info about them. I brought it into MAPerformace and had them look it over and they said if your getting a good deal on it's a deacent turbo. also from what I've found on dsmtuners it's a garret turbo with bullseye's turbine housing. I could be wrong but that is just what I found so I dunno

Re: t04b v-trim question

+1 on it being a good turbo, we have beaten the shit out of ours, turned the car off with the turbo glowing, no leaks, shaft play or problems. Pulls like a son-of-a-bitch.

the only criticism is the compressor housing leaked, needed to use a thin layer of rtv to stop it....aside from that the turbo is fine

Re: t04b v-trim question

in response to "its a bad turbo" - think about it, it has 2 moving parts: the turbine and the wastegate.

lets rule out the wastegate because it is so simple.

that leaves the turbine:
balance it
use good bearings
use good seals

unless I am mistaken that is it, it is a simple machine, not many parts to fail.

now a ford, you could call that a piece of shit, lost and lots of parts to fail, even when working properly those cars are pieces of shit.

Re: t04b v-trim question

Is there a different between the v- trim and the m-trim, cause yea i have a to4b m-trim and I'm about to put the turbo in my car, i have a 92 gsx. Sorry for writing in here 4season69, but yea when i bought my turbo it came with the ss oil line and ss return line, so i don't know if the stock one will fit. I think you might want the ss oil return line, cause it bigger than your stock one. Just a thought. Yea i have read up on these turbo and i heard their really good. Their High flow turbo not high boost turbo. So maybe with 15 psi you may get alot of power already but depending on your set up and what you use to tune with.

Too much oil pressure= blowing oil past turbo seals. You won't have too much pressure from the filter housing on a journal bearing, but ball bearing you need to feed it off the head (less pressure)

No the stock line will not work. Get a SS push lock from MAP or somethin.
