Re: I'm Back

I picked up an ESI. PGT= Ford Probe GT it is a nice high reving car, but it sucks on gas even though I had it modded out. My plan (for the Talon) is to get the engine up to specs then Supercharge it. I'm thinking 5 psi. I'm not looking to be the fastest just have about 200whp or something like that.

Re: I'm Back

Why waste money on a supercharger? Sell the ESI and buy a TSI.

Re: I'm Back

Supercahrger is different and more reliable in the long run. Everyone has a turbo charger thats becoming has common as air (not knocking them)somebody needs to do something different.

Bluntedelvis I'm not a noob. I've been on here off and on for the last two years plus I've had four other DSms so I'm have more than enough experience with these cars.

Explain. A properly maintained turbo car will be just as reliable.

Because they work? If superchargers are so great then why don't more car manufacturers use them instead of turbos?

Re: I'm Back

There's more to be had with a turbo and everybodys always looking to have more power then the next guy something you wont accomplish with a supercharger. I'm looking to be fast not king of the road. This will be my DD until I get my 3000gt VR4, I just need a little more power out of it especially since my Probe ran high 14's. I feel like a worm when accelerating on to the highway with the Talon. I'm use to getting thrown back in my seat and watching for 60 because it comes so quick.

In a way I guess I shouldnt try to explain myself because it is well known that MOST (not all) DSM guys are only thinking about putting the big number on their cars. That the reason why people get them. I'm just trying somethings different so don't flame me for being unique. Like I said before I just want a efficient car that has about 200whp and torque.

Re: I'm Back

I can understand trying to do something different; but if you are going to do that it should make a little bit of sense.

Supercharged cars are not more reliable, they are more consistant and easier to deal with in some cases because its not as hard to regulate boost and other factors. I just can't see trying to Supercharge a Talon to get 200whp when you could buy a TSi and have that same HP with a boost controller, hardpipe, and intake.

I think in the end it will end up costing you a fortune because its not as common.

Re: I'm Back

^ Ohhh so true. Dont mean to flame you, it just seemed out of the ordinary for someone to put a supercharger in a talon. Are you working on a budget cause a supercharger is going to run the better part of $1000 not to mention an extra $500 to $600 in supporting mods. When you could spend that $1000 all together and have a sweet 20g/with supporting mods. You are right in one factor it would be unique, shit I havent seen one done with a supercharger but whatever floats your boat, and if thats the path you choose and you get it to run proper well than more power to you.
