Here's an idea: actually sign up for the dyno day, and respond to my PM!

More power will come from a FMIC, bigger turbo, intake, etc...do you have full turbo-back exhaust?

Re: video in my eclipse

That's really slow for what you've got on there. My first DSM was an auto car with a 14b with stock auto manifold, 3" catback, a boost controller, a K&N and the free mods. It ran a best of 14.5@93mph, so the same speed about six seconds quicker than yours. That was brake boosting off the line running about 16psi on pump gas, full weight of course. I'd go through the basics like base timing, good plugs and turn up the boost til she blows. The hacked maf might be hurting you if it isn't done right. That's not quite a necessary mod at this level. And you really need a good exhaust, that's probably the most important.

Re: video in my eclipse

3" turboback, FMIC if needed/wanted right now.
Some kind of tuning software, i am not sure what a factory tune on a DSM is.
Hacked MAF, get rid of it, not needed. Just asking for drivability issues there.(rough idle, etc)

Re: video in my eclipse

I mean that you have replaced the exhaust with complete 3" all the way from the O2 housing.
If not, do it, you will love it, i guarantee it.

Re: video in my eclipse

Don't bother with that IC, it's a waste of time. You can tune without a SAFC, but we'll just say the methods are old skool and probably hard to find these days. I'd actually pick up a VPC now that they are so cheap. That's still my favorite although DSMlink isn't much more now. Even easier would be a simple chipped ECU. I've still got an original TMO chip with all the goodies including stutterbox and theft that I'd sell for $50. You just need an eprom ecu that is socketed. That is the simplest way period.

Re: video in my eclipse

Yep, exhaust is most important, stock is really restrictive. Actually, this book should be your very first step. It answers all the questions you'll have for the next year or so.

Re: video in my eclipse

A full exhaust should have been the very first mod, you usually do that before anything on a 1G.

That Conquest/Starion intercooler is a worthless pile.

You can get MBCs cheap, but you should get exhaust first, before creating a lot of backpressure with more boost.

A 14B can overrun the stock 1G MAS though.

Re: video in my eclipse

I did until very recently on the 1G. Upgraded to a 2G MAS! A hacked 1G MAs probably tunes better than a MAFT.
