Question Stock Shortblock Power?

How much power have you made on a stock shortblock?
How long did the motor last at those power levels?
And of course on what dyno?

I am asking these questions because of all the sweet setups as of late and with the new E85 craze, it looks like a lot of people maybe pushing towards these levels.

Re: Stock Shortblock Power?

To start it off... all stock minus cams. 29-30 psi, 50 trim, aem ems, 429 fwhp dynojet revving to 8k, tuned to 12:1, for a good 3 months straight at least, 13k miles at least. Compression never changed when last tested to when first tested. Rarely would it see 92 octane ;-) .

I'm gonna go ahead and assume some type of race gas? I cringe at the thought of attempting 30psi on 87 octane. LoL

Re: Stock Shortblock Power?

It was bobby and steve's 111. It didn't even have a great tune-cher and myself worked it over. Called Shane with questions, and it was rushed before an evening down on Uni.

Re: Stock Shortblock Power?

290whp on RS's mustang dyno on a 1G 7-bolt for about a year, no issues except for the broken oil-squirter incident (happened on startup, search for more info). Beat the crap out of it w/ no issues.

300whp on dyno dynamics for a full year on oem 6-bolt motor for about a year, 23-25psi daily on 50/50 B&S 111/92. prolly about 240whp on the 16g it had before that for 1.5 years. Beat the piss out of that motor, took it fairly easy on the tranny though.
