Exhaust Muffler Preferences
The can/muffler on my Apexi N1 catback has almost completely broken off from the pipe because of rust, so I want to replace it but not sure what kind of muffler to get. I don't want something loud and obnoxious. Something similar to the Apexi N1 can as far as sound, but cheaper in price since the can itself runs like 200 something. Just wanted to get some input from the board and feedback on the different type of cans/exhaust systems people have been using. The pipe is still fine thankfully, but the can is done.

Re: Exhaust Muffler Preferences
I'm switching out my Megan muffler for a Hooker one this winter. Same hooker one that AHP used on their systems back when they were still around.

Re: Exhaust Muffler Preferences
I just got a Thermal R&D cat back for my car. I'm not sure how it sounds yet, but it looks pretty cool

Re: Exhaust Muffler Preferences
I had a buschur with a dynomax muffler and it was super loud at only 2.5". I built a home made catback all 3" with a hooker muffler and it sounded awesome. +1 for hooker.

Re: Exhaust Muffler Preferences
+2 for Hooker Maximum Flow. I had a 2.5" and a 3" and I loved the tone. Nice and deep but not too loud and no resonance while cruising.

Re: Exhaust Muffler Preferences
There's an N1 knockoff out there, which I purchased long ago. Very cheap. The sum of $70 bucks or so.

Ya, I have a N1 knock off on my car. When I cut the pos off, I'll give it to you for 5 bucks.
