Buscur has most of the parts listed on their site that you would need.

Fuck Bushnuts, he is the opposite of a resource.
The 2.0 is an okay swap, but if you are going thru the trouble, do something useful. My favorites are: RB26, 6g74, 2.17
Remember that you won't have the DSM tranny holding you back.

LS1 would be my choice if you are going to swap. If you're gonna go, go big! Won't weigh much more than the 2.6l since it is all aluminum.

Or just buy a Camaro since the whole car would probably be half the price of a swap and can't weight a whole lot more.

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
Doesnt the widebody 2.4 bolt up to the stock tranny on these? Thats what I was planning on mine, but never got to it, and probably never will. Allan, buy mine!

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
Yes it does. The 2.4 will break the tranny though, they arn't made for high horsepower. There really isn't much reason to get rid of the G54B. Not to replace it with something like the 4g64 anyway.

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
Conquests are for pussies. get a man's car, a CAMARO! It already has a v8!
I'll sell you my car plus most of what you need to convert to MPI for $5995. I'll sell you a big honkin' turbo if you want that too. 569whp and 600 wtq on a setup very similar to mine.
Comes with several extra parts like springs, and random things I find in my garage that can fit in the trunk.

The starion is a good 500 lbs lighter. Flat rear window so plexi is easy, seats weigh like 90 lbs each, so it is easy to lose more weight.
Why is a 2.17l swap cool, but a LS1 is sacriledge?

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
In the mitsu family. That's all.
If money wasn't an issue, and I really really wanted a sweet quest, I'd put a 1UZFE (?) toyota v8 in and turbo it.

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
"If" I was to do something like this I'd swap it to a 4G63/4 and nothing else. It wouldn't be anything insane and if the stock motor coudl handle 300hp boosted I'd probably not do a swap. I've read a lot of bad shit about the stock heads as well.
Mo, what's an asking price

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
Why does Reid need to be the one to pounce? Meh.
Yea, stock heads are flowing nightmares compared to a 4g63 head. Even with everything you can do to the head, it's flow still won't be all that impressive. Who cares though. People who buy a conquest (and stay g54b) are looking for torque, and that's exactly what it dishes out. MPI + big turbo have yielded awesome results already. 500hp+ is a reality, even with the flow rates of the head.
Alan - Honestly, I think it's cheaper and easier to get 300hp (and gobs more torque than a 4g63) out of the stock engine, then it is to swap a 4g63 in it.
And as for the F-body comment: What would be easier to work on? LS1 in a conquest, or LS1 in the F-body. Hmmm...

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
LS7 or no LS...anything else is dumb. Why use a turbo V8? The power is unusable. Stay with a G54B, make power and be happy. If you can make a DSM work, you can make a Conquest work. Less breaks and the power comes with less effort. If you don't believe me, look at the 9 second Starquests out there.

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
I agree with Kougar. Enough power to play with should be pretty easy. Maybe not 300 horses. I would expect 275 with ease, but you'd probably have 350-400ft lbs to go with it. They have unbelievably torquey motors.
Not that I know too much about them. Mine blew up before I could really tear into it.
On a side note, does anybody know a guy who put a new engine in a black on black 87. F*cker never paid me.

Well if you wanted to stick with the stock motor, it's all there, minus a good head. The head is there, but I took it off, and the journals are messed. I'm not sure what a reasonable price is for something like this.. anyone have any ideas?

Re: 4G63 in a Conquest/Starion
There are some aftermarket heads that wake up the stock engine.

If you recall, I think I talked to you about it at the NSX/s2k meet. The price we talked about is about right. More for a really clean body. What journals are messed up? The ones in the head? I have a bare head sitting in my garage that is free and I'm pretty sure it's fine.
