Motorcycle folks:
Who do all y'all use for insurance?
How much per month do you pay and for what displacment?
Also, throw in anything you know about your providers' rate structure. As in, they only care about the bike's displacement or they classify each type of bike. Thanks.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
State Farm is the shit, they go just on displacement. I pay $21/mo for full coverage on a '05 GSXR1000. You cannot get insurance through them if you have over 2 tickets in 3 years though.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
Mine is also thru State Farm. $18 a month full coverage, 01 Kawi ZX6R.
As a side note, State Farm has their own bank as well for loans. Only for those that use their insurance though. That's where I got my bike loan thru. Pretty easy too.

Unless you have an absolutely terrible driving record you are getting bent over big time, especially at your age. I have found State Farm to be the cheapest ans most helpful for any insurance that I have had to look for.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
Bringing the thread back for a couple days.
So I was looking for insurance quotes on a 1998 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. I looked at Geico and got a quote for $450-$470, which is a lil under $40 a month. Then I called StateFarm and they only have motorcycle insurance available if you have a car currently insured under them also, which I dont. So they weren't an option anymore. Then I called AAA and got a quote for $450, just liability. Sounds like I'll be paying about $40 a month. I have a question? Is that decent? Too much? Good deal? This is with a perfect driving record so far . I need insurance on the bike, so I can go take my license test! Any other options I should take, let me know.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
Did you try the company that your car is under? If you do that you may be able to get the multi vehicle discount and save on both your car and bike insurance. Also, if you rent ask about renters insurance. I added that to my policy and it actually saved me money in the end.
I use State Farm btw, not sure if other companies are the same.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
Hmm..I've gotta try asking my current insurer, Progressive . I'm hoping I can find someone cheaper to insure me. We have like 4 cars under that company, so hopefully that helps a bit.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
Go over to State Farm for your car and then insure the bike. My rates have consistantly dropped almost every 6 months and I have a few bad tickets on my record. One of which is coming off this summer. Good ole Red Rock days!!!

Re: Motorcycle folks:
for my honda F4, it was around $200 a year if I can remember right. My brother's 1000cc yamaha is still less than 300 a year. They are both through state farm.

Re: Motorcycle folks:
Ahhh...I wanna switch to State Farm. My car is under my sister and my dad went through Progressive. I went for a quote and so far thats the best place I found. I'll be paying $31 a month. Thats not too bad, compared to $40 . I'm gonna see how much insurance will be for my car, under my name, if I switch over to State Farm..haha.
