Damn It!!!!!

I was working on the motor last night trying to get it ready to drop in this weekend and while I was putting the oil pump on, one of the bolt heads broke off in the block and now its stuck in there with loctite red on it!!! Now I have to take it to my job and have my machine shop guy get it out for me...just another delay!!!!

Re: Damn It!!!!!

Why are you loctiting the bolts into the block? They are a lower torque number for a reason. Loctite is actually a very good way to throw off your torque numbers.

Re: Damn It!!!!!

I just tightened my bolts till they start to get easier to turn, then back off half a turn. Usually holds.

Re: Damn It!!!!!

That's one flimsy ass bolt, or else you're torqueing the living shit out of a bolt that should be about 12 ft/lbs tops. Remember, you're torqueing down an aluminum plate.
