Vegas Baby!

Jana and I are looking at taking a spur of the moment trip to Vegas soon!

Has anyone been there recently and be able to suggest a place to stay?

I just need to get out of this state for a few days. My luck has gone to shit. For those who know all my crap, I capped it off by backing into a snowbank this morning and putting a fucking hole in the Jeep. This really fucking blows, and I need a vacation!

Re: Vegas Baby!

I went last summer and had a great time. I stayed in the Sahara which is on the cheaper end for being right on the Strip. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was clean, nice, pretty big, etc. I recomend checking out the buffet at The Orleans casino/hotel, always under $10 and some of the best food (and largest buffet) I could find. Its off the Strip so its not within walking distance. Oh, the night show outside of Treasure Island is free and pretty cool, worth checking out; so is Bellagio's fountain display at night. My favorite casino was probably Paris, really neat ambiance inside.

Re: Vegas Baby!

I haven't been to Vegas for years, so I'm excited at the chance of going. We used to stay downtown, can't remember the place. But then we'd always go out to the strip to see the new hotels, and look around.

Did you rent a car Chris, or just take a cab if you needed to get around?

Thumbs up Re: Vegas Baby!

Jimmy (TalonFiero) goes there like every year... he and his wife should know some really good places.

I usually stay at the Flamingo. Right in the middle of everything and about the same price as everywhere else. Plus, they have an awesome pool area.

Re: Vegas Baby!

I rented a Neon, I wanted to be able to drive around and go see the Hoover dam.

I've always found the best deals on www.expedia.com and www.cheaptickets.com . I've never been impressed with Hotwire. www.travelocity.com seems decent too.
