Re: 06 Evo Ix Reveiled At Detroit Auto Show

well, the front bumper looks a little different. I've seen the stock ones up close, and then the kits that are sold for these cars. That front bumper looks much like a kit that RB Motoring has on their silver evo, along with the darker silver graphics down the side, and such sponsors as nology, dazz, rotora, speed options, and whatnot. Good looking car though!

Those holes better be function in some way or another...at least some foglights hopefully. They should have gone with 2 openings in the hood just for a bit of change.

Re: 06 Evo Ix Reveiled At Detroit Auto Show

The holes are supposed to route cool air to the intake according to press releases. Also the front bumper along with some underpan fairings are supposed to improve the areodynamics. The headlights and rear tailights have some minor changes. The evo now has mivec and a needed update to the interior. According to press releases the MR is the only version with a 6 speed again, none of the models come with the AYC in the US. The Evo IX bumper is pretty much unchanged from the VIII whereas the rest of the world gets the updated rear bumper.

I want to purchase an EVO, I was waiting for the IX, but know an VIII looks even better. The rest of the world gets an Evo IX with more options, power and improvements, but once again the US gets a watered down version that is harldy better than an VIII. The real question is how is MIVEC going to come into play with modifications. Which engine is better for building more power, a MIVEC or a non-MIVEC 4g63?

Anyone here drove the MIVEC ralliart lancer? 14.8 people have squeezed out of it, I was so impressed with the MIVEC when i drove the ralliart, The power band is smooth and starts out low MIVEC is dope.

I love the look of the IX... The front end has taken the best aspects of the Evo VII and put it on the current Evo... gorgeous.

"The turbocharged 2.0-liter four gets variable valve timing"
I wish I had variable valve timming on the laser, I want to see how the adjustable
cam system works.
