Good family vacation spot?
My family wants to go on a vacation and it's up to me and my gf to figure out where to go. We haven't gone on too many vacations so I don't know of too many good places to go other than the obvious. (Disney world, Disney land, ect..)
So what's a good vacation spot??

Re: Good family vacation spot?
If your looking for the theme park thing I would say Orlando in general, you have lots to choose from in the area.

Re: Good family vacation spot?
I think were trying to stay away from theme parks. Just looking to get a list of good vacation spots. Then decide where we all want to go from there.

Spain was amazing when I went a couple years back. Especially southern Spain, it has super nice weather and some lovely beaches plus loads of interesting sites and architecture.
But it really depends on what you like to do while on vacation.

Re: Good family vacation spot?
I should have stated that it would probably be somewhere in the states. Not sure if we want to go out of the country.

Florida would be the best relaxing place. Miami beach is awesome! Also if you want some fun go kart action, Fun Spot in Orlando has all you can go kart with 4 different tracks.

Re: Good family vacation spot?
How about a houseboat or cabin up in northern Minnesota (assuming this is a summer vacation)? Mackinaw City, MI is also a neat town to visit.

I wouldn't step foot anywhere inside Mexico right now. I think a lot of what you hear in the national news is diluted compared to what you hear down here.
Have you thought about a Caribbean cruise at all? That was the best vacation of my life; hands down no comparison.

Re: Good family vacation spot?
If you want a quiet not very touristy vacation check out St. George Island in FL. I just got back from there. Beautiful beach on gulf side of island, can rent a house (ours was 6bd 5bath) on or across the street from beach very resonably. Saw dolphins almost daily off the coast. Can do fishing on beach or can also charter deep sea fishing. Very relaxing vacation.

My GF keeps saying Mexico and I keep saying HELL NO. Haha
I don't know about a cruise. We tried that awhile ago and it never worked out. I don't like being out in the ocean for some reason.
