I was just wondering what a nice car would be. Preferably around 2-3 years old, 15-25K in price, insurance might play a big role in this also. I'll be 19 with a speeding ticket, don't know if i can get onto my moms insurance or take out my own!!! (oh noes) Anyway, just seeing what your opinions would be.

cars im liking
RSX-S
Accord
SRT-4
type R integra
EVO RS, STi maybe depends on how much insurance $$ is. probably not though

SVT lighting
focus SVT
jeep wrangler
diesel truck (dodge most likely)
ion redline

anyone have any occurances with any of these cars/trucks?

If I was going your route and wanted to spend right around 20K id buy and evo hands down. But you cant find them muhc cheaper than 21-22 and youll have to go out of state.

I went the cheaper route and got an older car with higher miles but I like it. I was going to do exactly what your doing but didnt want to spend the extra money just for lower miles, plus I didnt want payments and my insurance is great right now.

RSX type-s are probably the ones i get. My Cousin has a type-s and its pushing 220 hp and 150ish tq at the wheels. i-VTEC is nice, but i love the all wheel drive best.

are cobras insaning for insurance?

I dont know why but im leaning towards the RSX-S or type R, does that make me a ricer? hahaha

I'm used to paying 226 a month for insurance. If that makes any difference.

If you want nice and slow get an SC300/SC400. If you want very fast and cheap interior get an 03 Cobra. If you want decent interior and quick enough to pass someone get the RSX-S. If you want to go broke paying for gas, get a diesel. If you don't mind it getting stolen, smoking or spinning rod bearings then get the Integra Type-R. If you want to be the butt of jokes, get the Focus SVT. If you want to attract gay young studs, get the Wrangler. If you are boring, get the Accord. If like to make your blow-off valve go off every 2 seconds in parking lots then get the SRT-4. If you want barebones, quick and moddable then get the EVO RS. If you want a nicer interior, have a big ego, and like to pretend you never lose a race, then get the STi. If you don't like having your dash gauges where you can see them, then get the Ion Redline. If you really do like trucks, then get the SVT Lightning.

I'd go the Dodge truck route and pick up one of these:

That's funny. :D And I agree with him...other than the Cobra. The interior isn't any cheaper than a DSM.

And yes, Colin. That does make you a ricer.

RSX-S - good handling, but you are paying for the name and reliability more than anything
Accord - this is the fail safe car. If you want something that is going to work all the time, get it. The v6 ex is fast enough to run down a stock wrx from a roll.
SRT-4 - test drove one of these, if you like a car that is kinda loud, then get it. Put stage 2 on it, run low 13's on street tires and pump gas and be happy.
type R integra - never test driven one, but they are said to be the best drivers car under 30k in the last 20 years.
EVO RS, STi - if you can get them, you'll love them.
SVT lighting - gas hog, not that fast when it comes down to it. No extended cab. Howver they can tow pretty good.
focus SVT - autox champion. A stock svt foci will outhandle 95% of the cars on the road. But they are not fast. Comparable to my svt contour, but just a slight step slower on the big end.
jeep wrangler - do you want to roll it when some old lady pulls out in front of you?
diesel truck (dodge most likely) - ick, doesn't belong here
ion redline - test drove a prebroken in model. It wasn't very quick until the last 500rpm's. But that was prebreak in, which everyone said made 185whp, while post breakin making the 210whp.

first you can't put these cars, and a disel truck in the same catagory. You use them for two TOTALLY different things.

cars to add

Mazada Speed Protege - handles like you wouldn't believe with decent brakes. It's slow though and you'll have problems with Hemi trucks stock :)

How so? Look around and notice all of the soccer moms driving their kids around in crew cab diesel trucks. Just because a 3/4 ton diesel is setup for major towing and rigorous work doesn't mean it is actually used that way.
