I just remembered that there is a 96 (I think) BMW 325 in the Mankato Free Press with a M3 engine in it. It also mentions some sort of suspension work. That might be somthing to check out. M3 power and handeling with 325 inscurance.

Get a cheap beater. Don't take out a loan for some 20k car while you are trying to work through college.

if all you care about it straight line speed, why not get muscle car?

parts are cheaper and easier to find
faster to install
and you have more options

A lot of the go-kart cars like the Miata, Focus, CRX, etc get their asses handed to them when you goto a real road course where both power and handling come into play. A lot of cars aren't well suited for swerving in and out of cones in a parking lot in 1st gear.

tell that to the AWD dsm owners that I put 1.5 seconds on in the local autox. They were running summer onlys while my poor shitbox waste of space was running all seasons.

the svt focus beat me by almost 2 seconds.

everyone tears the svt econo cars down because they aren't fast in a straight line.Oh yeah and about the comparison, not to throw salt in the wound here, but I read the review on the comarison you are talking about and the SRT-4 beat everything in every category other than braking distance and weight if I remember correctly.
