I think they look pretty sweet. Kinda reminds me a little of those Acura TSX's I see around. Especially the rear

I wonder how much force it takes to pull head studs out of an aluminum block, compared to a cast iron block? How much compression / boost would it take to fuck the Engine assembly up. I mean come on, can we ( DSMers ) push an aluminum 4 cylinder block to lets say one thousand horse power?

[QUOTE=scheides]Just for fun, I'll throw this into the mix. An article about the EvoX in Autoweek this week. I scanned it at a good res so you can actually read the article, not just see the pics. They're claiming engine will 'remain the same' but they're claiming it'll match up to a "clutchless 6-speed auto/manual transmission" ...cool read, nice pics.

OMG I need to get out of the house more often. I think the new EVO looks HOT for a four door. The old EVO just reminded me of the Mirage to much.

LOL! Anna gets the magazine for free at her office and steels it for me every week. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it doesn't get read, but overall for a weekly magazine it's not bad! On the mirage comment, that's what the evo's always been about! It's always been cheeky, you know? Mitsu's engineers little joke that they can make their little cheap-o rice-burners scoot like a porsche!

i would think they would use steel thread inserts on the high stress areas.

Scheides, they say right in the beginning of the article "new four cylinder turbo". It will have a new alloy design.

On aluminum Honda blocks, you usually only torque ARP head studs down to around 65 ft-lbs compared to the 85-110 ft-lbs that DSM guys do without even thinking about ripping the threads out of the block.
