Getting serious about a FMIC, need options...

2 1/4" LICP is the only real problem. You could have one installed for the same price from a local shop too, with 2.5" SS piping. :D

Thats pretty how the style of mine is with the pipe routing. I like it. It WILL allow you to keep your fogs too.

Oh yeah, that will be long route piping so you need to upgrade the upper and lower stock pipes also.

Do plan on installing this yourself? Last I remember, you had QPR install an EGT gauge for you. If that is the case, I think a FMIC is a bit over your head. It is not difficult, just a little more time consuming. I have installed several FMICs and I would never take on a custom unit yet (welder will be up soon though...). You would have to find out how the IC will fit, weld mounting brackets on the IC, and then worry about the piping. I would go with a gready kit as even ghettostyle could install it. The kits are made and guarenteed to fit. Unless you have an experienced shop or person do it for you, it will probly look like a hack job. Call Mike if you want custom, order a kit otherwise. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the advise, but let me clarify...

QPR did NOT install a EGT " gauge for me, <come'on I'm not THAT Lame>, instead of risking metal shavings floating around in my turbo, due to a on car tap for the EGT probe, I was advised to have the entire manifold removed so Mike could install and weld in the EGT probes real female insert, as well as do a factory look cut to the heat shield. They also replaced a missing turbo gasket, that was a hidden issue.

QPR Tapped the manifold very professionaly for me, I then "installed the gauge"


However to your point I am not a welder, machinist, nor even a GOOD wrench, I do what I can when I can and only when I feel it's not too far over my head.

Not that my car is the fastest or "blingyist" at all, BUT it still is the nicest "thing" I've ever owned, and being that I paid $11,000 for it, am still making payments, I'm certainly not ashamed of hiring a pro to help me out when I don't understand it vs totaly fucking it up!

That is also why this cars "uptime" has been 99+%, where alot of "tinkerers" and dare I say HACKS have been "down" too often with some serious issues.

It's always been a fine line between stretching out, and "Doing it yourself" to learn, and just digging in and fucking it up to "burn". I maybe a bit gun shy, but I'll also be out on the street tonight, doing what I like best, DRIVING, and not in my garage with my head in my hands crying about my damm car!

<Hope not anyways, as I'm doing a oil change today, guess "something" could go wrong? Oh wait, Now I'm afraid, is QPR open to do oil changes? JUST KIDDING!>

That would be a large no on the oil change thing :) Most anyone is capable of doing decent work. Just take your time, pay attention to detail and don't skimp on things that will bite you later and I know it will come out fine. As far as kits go, the SLS is a great deal. The ebay one will work as well. If cost is also a big issue, JET could probably hook you up as well pretty reasonable for custom and install.

If you get the greddy kit, you would need to reuse your upper i/c pipe and you might need to modify the bottom i/c pipe a little for the 16g. It was easy for me to install with no big problems or anything.

This kit is 100% COMPLETE, has a nice core, is cheaper and requires very little bumper hacking! Thanks to all for the feedback. Going as "plug and play <not pray!>" as possible with this project!
