I got a call today from the shop that has been working on my car. To make a long story short, #2 and #4 arent firing. I either need to
A. rebuild or
B. Swap

For those of you who dont know I have a mitsubishi eclipse GS with a t3/t4 turbo. What would you suggest? Either way im looking at about $2,000 to get her up and running. any advice/help would be AWSOME !!!!

Could it just be the coils? Why do they think you need to rebuild? Cylinders not firing usually have something to do with spark.

Jim, from what I've read of your posts on MNSC about your car in this shop, I'd yank it from there ASAP and take it somewhere else. There is just too much stuff going on that is totally unrelated to eachother.

Make sure the plug wires between those two cylinders aren't swapped by accident.
1 & 4 go together
2 & 3 go together

what things are you referring too that dont add up Matt? I broke my oil seal....lost almost all my oil, unknowingly, which cause #2 and #4 to break or crack? This is what they told me happened, does it make sense?

Not firing doesn't always mean there is no spark. If they are telling him he needs a rebuild or swap, maybe there is 0 compression in them for some reason.

I was just offering up something simple to check just in case. It would suck if that was it and they pulled the engine for nothing. I would hope they checked the compression already.
