Would that shortage of water be related to California shutting off millions of gallons of fresh water to farmers, that is leading to a food shortage because the farmers can't irrigate their dead/dying crops,...?

Or the fact the coal energy production has been put in a choke hold by the EPA which will result in less available energy,...?

Sorry i forgot to address these fun little nuggets.

Sorry when there isnt enough water, there needs to be across the board cuts including farmers. They are in a freakin drought. its either cut back or go completely drained.

Secondly, Coal energy is the dirtiest energy being produced so of course there needs to be regulation by the EPA. Its so that we can breath clean air. Or are you anti clean breathing air?
Doubt youll get the reference but heres your future.

Here's a couple of nuggets for you,....

First off, there's no shortage of water in CA that isn't man made. Look into the 81 billion (BILLION!) gallons of fresh water being dumped into the ocean because of the EPA and the Delta Smelt. That could be pumped to farmers and cities.

http://www.pacificlegal.org/cases/Water-cutoff-for-Delta-smelt-is-unconstitutional

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2014/01/30/congressman-california-drought-man-made-by-democrats/

Secondly, it looks like the Delta Smelt is going extinct due to influences beyond our control.

There are four significant threats to the species:

direct entrainments by State and Federal water export facilities;
summer and fall increases in salinity, NOTHING TO DUE WITH MANKIND - SO HOW DO YOU STOP IT?
summer and fall increases in water clarity, NOTHING TO DO WITH MANKIND - SO HOW DO YOU STOP IT?
Effects from introduced species. - MAYBE MANKIND, MAYBE NOT

http://www.fws.gov/sfbaydelta/species/delta_smelt.cfm

We have at least two out of four threats to the Delta Smelt that we have no control over and can't stop. So regardless of pumping stations or not, farmers or not, the fish will go extinct because the water conditions in it's waters are naturally changing. Same has happened throughout the history of the world, some species die off through natural progression, some adapt and survive.

As far as coal goes, I want clean air just as you do. And since China is pumping it out like there's no tomorrow (maybe they know something we don't), why kill of our industry to support theirs? We all breathe the same air and what China is doing will affect what we breathe here, there is no magical wall that stops that infiltration, just like our southern border.
I also understand the reality of the fact that there is nothing else that is readily available to take its place, well nothing that tree huggers haven't done their best to stop at every implementation (nuclear, wind, geo-thermal, hydro-electric, etc.). Solar is a good alternative and as soon as the powers that be figure out how to regulate and properly price sunshine to their advantage I'm sure it will become more widely used.

Need reinstate Darwin's law.

Get government to stop making welfare a life style. And that would put a dent in the population issue.
Remove all illegal immigrants as well.
