Hey was wondering if any local guys would be willing to give me a hand with street tuning.

Im kinda lost with it. My set up is pretty basic. Just looking for some help and pointers.

Anytime this week would be awsome.

I could give you some free parts for your trouble or work something out with you.

i have been doing a lot of reading, even bought the book listed in the ecmlink forum. this stuff is basically a foreign language!

im not asking for someone to spoon feed me. I just have absolutely no idea what im looking at or doing. I dialed in the .63 volts. checked timing.

I see why tuners get payed so well.

I just need someone to show me the ropes so Im not so scared to actually adjust and change things :/

Post your mods/setup, your logging a wideband right?

I'm kinda the same way, I understand it, but it's definitely not my specialty. I just bring my car to Shane at DB and have him tune it. I don't have to worry about blowing anything up and I'm getting max power out of my setup. I sometimes make little changes from there.

I'm comfortable with speed density but have no experience with tuning maf. I would need to do a little research prior, but it wouldn't be a problem. As long as the car runs solid and is set up ok with a wideband etc. I have a nice loop by my house to do consistent identical pulls for wot tuning but this week there is road work.

I'm off friday, i could help then if needed.

Make sure the car is boost leak tested, you have tools and fluids on hand.

Mod list.

272 cams
adjustable cam gear
2.3
1600cc injectors(running gas and 450cc now just while I get the hang of things)
Gm maft.
V3 link
3 exhaust
all the supporting mods.
Hx35 7blade (sitting on the shelf for next summer ;) )

Basically ive just driven it around the block and adjusted maft comp sliders based on the recommendation of link.

I set the base settings to where they should be. But in all honesty im sure I may have missed a few values that I need to log.

I wish I could afford db.

Im not looking to put down max hp/torque

just want it tuned reasonable and driveable.

Next summer I plan to go balls to the walls. But this summer I just want to get the basics down. Learn to tune properly.

Thank you guys for replying btw. The ecmlink forum is pretty rough. Im not a master tuner so it feels like they look at you as if you were a 420a guy asking why you cant swap in a 4g63t :/

Just post a thread there saying you just started the car, but they do expect you to be able to follow simple instructions and do base checks.

The other important thing there is to post up logs of what you are dealing with.

I think that you should give the link forums another go. I have not got that demeaning vibe from that forum when I asked for help. You WILL get that attitude if you post up questions without a log, or do not have accurate/incomplete information that you are feeding them to look better. I know that sounds silly but it happens. There are a lot of really smart guys on that forum that are willing and eager to help you get a very good tune for free. You could even pay a few members there a minimal fee to remote tune your setup so you don't have to worry about anything.
