If you time it, it's racing...sorry, you guys are silly not calling this racing, let's be honest here.
Agreed 100%. It's a timed, closed course, event. It may not be wheel-to-wheel, but it's just as much racing as any other dragstrip, autocross, or HPDE.

Do you guys utilize transponders or just stop watches? If you use transponders, then i would think it's timed.

Spaz is the only one racing out there with all those numbers and graphics like a ricer LOL

Everyone knows I'm a ricer attention whore.

There was no record kept of times at the autox/speed stop. They were intended for personal/instructor use to gauge improvement. If you want to argue racing, the only racing anyone was doing was against themself.

Racing, practice, whatever. I paid cash for the car and have good health insurance :)

More appropriate update:

Head is salvagable! Not only that but it'll be cheap to fix! $725 max. The machine shop said that they might have some used valves they can use from doing upgrades in the past OR they could just do +1mm valves in the car. I opted to KISS on this one since it's an IX and there's a lot more that can be done to add power before I start throwing extra money into headwork. Should be done mid next week.

Now I just need to grow a set of balls and figure out how to successfully replace the piston in cyl3....it really needs to go.

Honestly I'd replace all pistons and have rods checked, at a minimum #3 and #2.

Sorry to hear. Looks to me like a set of shelf stock HD2's, rod bearings, and a fresh set of valves. If the cylinder walls look good, you could do it like drop ins.

You checking/changing the bearings? I would. Also would replace all pistons and check rods as quoted above. Specially if selling the car.

Not 100% sure yet, never done this part before; still working through the details. For sure replacing piston in #3, gotta pull it apart a little more and see what I see.

I've done the single piston replacement in car, it was a breeze. Car worked fine after the fact.
