Ohhh my Christ isn't that what I said pretty Fucking much to begin with. Your a piece of work you know that. Pretty god damn funny you never agree with anyone unless a mod or proven member says the say damn thing

I asked that you stop with the lies, but I know its tough.
I usually bump heads with everyone, because I'm one of the few that will post my opinion on here and not just talk shit behind everyone's back.

I also agree with steve on this about the head design and I know that I'll take a 2g head over a 1g and I'm 100% sure that mitsu somehow improved their head design/cast from 1995 to 2003 and later.

The secret to a 2.4 Evo is the headgasket you use. :D

Interesting fact: I get administrator emails as a post was reported :).

Back on topic to the OP:

You really need to be realistic with the intentions of the vehicle and your goals, realistic goals. Many builds have been delayed to a poorly designed "map to success" to where money dries up or vehicles are without supporting mods. Nothing worse than a built motor that needs frequent refreshing and is slower than a stock motor car + turbo upgrade.

Pretty dead set on a 2.3 looking at map stage 1 2.3 with stage one head assembly etc BUT Im looking at a tad over 6,000 for that plus i wanna refresh my t case and rebuild my twin (needs to be done) plus need misc items rotors coils turbo etc.

Anyone got any other suggestions to save some $ 6k is a lot!

Do a leakdown test. Could just be the head. These cars seem to get gunky valves every 50k or so for some reason.

Yeah but since it has 115k wouldnt ot just be best to rebuild the whole thing?

See what the leakdown shows first I say.

This is chukee's old car? A few of us were discussing in the shoutbox the other day, I think I remember they said it had valve problems before, I would not be surprised if the bottom end was perfectly fine. Get the leakdown and hopefully it tells you the low compression is due to valves.

On another note, I can't believe stage 1 long blocks are going for $6k these days, I thought I was crazy for spending $3k on a really nice 2.3 like 5 years ago, ported head, radius valve job, line honed, the works.
