I know a guy with about $35k into his and it's been autocrossed once; modded doesn't mean tracked.

+1 check out the project thread(s?) for my evo8...I had it for four years...built head, cams, bbx full, alky injection, the thing was fun as hell but I only did the clutch *once* because I never raced it in 80k miles.
My X on the other hand is on its....4th or 5th clutch? I have drag raced it 4-5 times, autoX 4-5 times in 2 years...it adds up :)

Good point, the number of clutch jobs is a huge indication of whether its been beat on or not.

Jesus, You really have to put a new clutch in everytime you track one? Just going to light or are they that bad on clutches?

Yes, the ~50k street miles caused no wear on the clutches at all
scheides I think is maybe exaggerating a bit on how many clutches he has gone through too, I thought it was closer to 3 or 4, stock when he got it, then the 1st ACT 6 puck, then another disk when you built the motor, and maybe one more?

Right, I put in fresh disks prematurely twice now when I had the trans apart from the engine for other reasons (engine, diff pins).
Also the car was already on its second clutch when I bought it at 20,000 miles.
