Can we chill with the constant sales pitching?

If you're going to pass that on as fact, can you site some references? Here's a reference I was looking at, Evo's not even on the list.

Eh my bad, I went back to find the article. It shows comparisons between Evo X, GTR, Z06 and a couple others for Gforce and slalom times. Turns out they were talking about the FQ400, which is the Euro version with a beefed up suspension.

I'm getting conflicting info on the fuel systems, are they capable of supporting the max the stock turbo can handle? With the X, how strong are the internals? They use a semi closed deck with sleeves unlike the caliber block isn't it? How strong are the sleeves? Internals stout or suspect?
The stock fuel system is capable of supporting basic bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, intercooler, etc.) with pump gas, once you get into the more specialized bolt-ons such as ported manifolds, throttle body, etc. you'll need to upgrade the fuel pump. The stock injectors are fine for any stock turbo/pump gas setup though. 343whp on a Mustang dyno was the limit of my stock fuel pump; after that I had to upgrade to a Walbro 255HP. I didn't touch my injectors until I upgraded the turbo.

The internals are fine, the weak point seems to be the rods just like the 4G63. 400-450whp (Mustang) is generally regarded as "safe" on the stock block with proper tuning. A bad tuner can blow up an engine at any power level though. A local here has hit a max of 466whp and his stock block is still holding together (~55k miles on it so far), he's actually going in for an E85 retune this week and I expect him to hit 480+.

What are you talking about? Because I find it funny that the #1 shit talker of Evo's now wants one? And the guy that pushes brand new Evo's on everyone and their grandmother thinks they are the greatest cars on the globe? Whatever dude...

Anyways,

Motors= weak if you go with more than a stock turbo/e85 setup.
Drivetrain = built like a tank, if you have an 08, get the diff pin installed.
Fuel system= Get a Walbro and be done. If you go with a big stock frame turbo like a Black/EF4/BBX/etc, you may need more.

The stock motor isn't really "weak".

It's perspective I guess, you just need to manage torque. 400-500whp isn't an issue if your turbo is laggy enough.

And proper tuning is very very important.

Oh, and lol at this :)

Why wasn't the miata on that top handling car for under 100k? What a joke. I do know nothing of the bigger NC and thats probably what they are comparing...

If you are staying stock turbo and run out of fuel, it's easy to address anyway. It takes 30 minutes to swap and hardwire a better fuel pump and injectors are right in the front of the engine bay if you're going e85.

Wow, what a great thread! Lots of good stuff in here, thanks for the smiles on a hump day morning :D An Evo being better handling than an Elise or Cayman/Boxster... Can't make that up!
