Knowing brown, he doesn't want payments. The title also says 7k max

I rock the escort over 90% of my driving, it's reliable and gets over 30+ mpg auto. A whopping 140hp at the crank, but it's actually not bad. You can get a nice one for around $3k, and probably sell it for close to that once you decide to step up to an Evo. The best part is we have probably spend less than $500 in maintenance over the past couple years, and there is zero chance to mod it, just a solid DD. Just my .02c.

So talking to my agent/claims person, it sounds pretty likely that my car will be totalled.
After owning the civic for almost a yr, I can say it was nice to have a car that was reliable, got great MPG and had power everything (even moonroof)
But it was uncomfortable and still painfully slow, a big improvement over the 70whp of the ranger, but still pretty bad.
I don't want to get too crazy because I still would like to get an evo someday, but its not on the top of the priority list at all.
Right now I'm thinking something like a '02 maxima, comfy, loaded features and plenty of power. I have also been told that they are extremely reliable and last a long time.
I'd like something that will last a very long time.
Feel free to post links/ideas.
Thank you.
I have a 2002 Maxima first year of the 3.5. I love it and have over 211,000 on it and drive it hard daily. i get around mid 20's mpg but its like 255hp and feels good, plenty of power, i vote maxima go drive one. get one for 5,000 save the ret for evo

Thanks guys, I'll check out some escorts, my civic is only rated to about 127/107 and it was worthless.
The maxima gets the same mileage as the 6 cyl. accord 21/28 that's only about 4mpg less than the 4 cyl. accord.
I just missed out on a mint 94 accord from NC, it had no rust and needed nothing at all.

I personally would get the new style Malibu with the 4 cylinder. I have two friends that have them and they average 38 to 39 mpg. Plus I think they are great looking cars.

Hey Aaron, You can get a lot of car for that price, buy now before gas starts going up. The price on fuel efficient cars is going to go through the roof as the gas prices start going up.
4 door 4 cylinder cars, great market right now since some people are selling their winter cars for sports cars for the summer.
