225 should be easy enough. I usually get 200 miles out of my tank, but even if some one averages 15mpg they should be able to make it 225 miles on a full tank plus 5 gallons.
Correct, 225 miles isn't too excessive and any decently tuned car can make that with a full tank + 5 gallons. This is something people need to be aware of when converting to E85...another reason why dual-tunes and map-switching are so important to have. There is no reason not to at least have an emergency pump gas map just in case; you never know when a station may close or run out.

Gentlemen,
We are going to try to tweak the route to get an extra fuel stop built-in but realize that we're doing the best we can...we've never gone up to Ashland and I think when this was planned last year they actually did have e85 there.
Please stop the bitching and whining. Hughes is doing his best to pick up the pieces from other members bailing on planning this. He lives in Texas for christ sake!
If you are interested in committing to planning one of these events start-to-finish (or helping with some specific tasks), please speak up...these events are FUN AS HELL but planning them can be a fucking NIGHTMARE, especially in situations like this.
That being said, prepare for as few fuel stops as possible, cars to blow up (seems like everyone and their mom is ignoring the two-week rule), people to fight...shit is gonna get REAL and we're gonna have FUN doing it! :D

It's gonna be legendary! There's a reason I've missed only one cruise since moving to Texas, and always find people to bring with me! Andrew and I may actually be bringing a new guest, Kevin Heist, who is an employee of Cobb down here, and a good buddy of mine.
I do my best with the planning, but being 1,000 miles away it can be a real challenge, especially with how quickly E85 stations out in the boonies come and go. Not to mention I can't physically see or drive the roads and have to rely entirely on the internet and maps.

Sounds awesome!

No doubt! It's an extra challange because all the remote fun roads always seem to be in economically challenged areas that lack the infrastructure we take for granted.
T-3 days!

Ok, I think I have the new route created, and you E85 guys are going to need to carry enough (including your fuel tanks), to travel 254 miles, add in some buffer, so please please please plan to travel 275 miles between E85 fill-ups. I'm thinking this means some of you will need to bring 2 5-gallon jugs in your trunk. This is the best that can be done while still traveling semi-fun roads and not major highways.

Put two 5 gallon containers tape them together put them in the trunk problem solved I've used this before and works perfect. Seriously this should not be that big of a deal. Man up and stop acting like a little bitches....
