Car ran quite fine over the Winter until I decided to turn the boost up. In early April I decided to turn the TD04 WRX turbo up from 7PSI to 1 bar. The car did not like this at all. The car reacted a lot like my GLH did when the plugs were gapped wrong and sometimes a lot more severe, backfiring and such.
So thinking the TD04 wasn't supplying the same amount of air at the same PSI and throwing off the tune I bought a VF39 and put that back in. Turned the boost back up to 20PSI and it was WORSE.
The last few weeks I changed the plugs, did a compression test (120psi across), boost leak test, made a ghetto grounding kit and then finally resorted to taking it to DB and throwing it on the dyno last Thursday.
With Shane's wideband we found out when it was hitting boost it would go VERY lean VERY quickly. Looking at the fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay it basically looked like something was pretty effed as it couldn't hold fuel pressure. We tried one of his FPRs, checking the voltage at the pump, changed the vacuum that was feeding the FPR, nothing worked. :(
So... Friday I said fuck it and bought a Walbro 255 and installed that this morning and that fixed it. Good way to start the Summer :)
