Great to see everyone. I guess as usual, I fail you all, and don't follow through with a pass or anything. I swear, SOMEDAY my luck is BOUND to change. I've finally narrowed my final goals to a single digit pass/150+ mph traps. Someday, I hope.

Oh so something pretty doable then.

^well, when you turn around your negativity, into positive thoughts, and decide to try and try again, I guess it is. Sometimes, you gotta MAKE things happen. We all know my luck in this game isn't great, but i'll be damned if some fucking car will defeat me. I WILL get what I want. Now, or later, it will happen.

Sorry to hear about that. Hope the damage won't be too expensive to fix. I am always slightly worried about this happending to me. Which area did it happen at?

Over-steered trough turn 7 and hit the wall (with the left rear tail light) on the outside of 7/8.

As for fixing, well a new chassis only runs $1K or so and might be a decent way to go, since the rest of the car wasn't exactly spectacular in the first place. Or the easier option I'm leaning towards is a hammer, a little bondo an a few new parts. Just need to decide if I want to continue my efforts of making a Grand Touring car a car that turn or not. If I go with a new chassis I won't be gutting it.

Damn, sounds like a fun time. I unfortunately had to sit around, do a little jet-skiing, and stare at college girls in bikinis up at Lake George.

Thanks for the kind words guys! We didn't quite reach my goal of tripling the racers / attendance of last year but we were sure close! As with last year we learned a lot of valuable lessons that we can use for the third annual Proving Grounds next year :) We will have a feedback thread up tomorrow, please contribute if you were in attendance!

Had a blast, thanks to MAP for putting on a great event. Best I could get was on Sat. with an 11.33 @ 132 with a 2.09 60' ( very crappy 18" street tires ). Managed break the driveline first qualifying run today though ... actually somehow managed to limp it home though with no power to the front tires... I gotta say, I always thought it would be cool to convert a DSM to RWD, but I never expected it to go like this!

I'm glad to hear you limped in home in one piece sir!

His though is the same as most probably are. Regardless of parts, those goals are fairly big. Hope you can do it, but I hope they are not short term goals as well.

When you say 7/8, do you mean the clover leaf turn? If so, my brother lost my car there the first time he was ever on the track. Fortunately, he got lucky and spun it out with out really leaving the road.

I have thought about building a car specifically for the track, but haven't had the time to do too much yet.

I should have brought tent or something; sleeping in galant backseat FTL haha
That's how it's done in grassroots motorsports. :)

Keep your head up, buddy. I'm feeling exactly like you with this Chump car stuff, all the bad things just drive me more to perfect what we have and make an even better effort the next time around.

Thanks Matt. Right now, the car I think will just sit. My motivation for even touching it just isn't there. Perhaps someday, 10 years down the road, I'll finally get what I want. Who knows.

We have the slowest evo to date, lol. Just hitting first gear, car rolls forward so the clutch is probably not disengaging. Also, 4th gear has a notch before it goes in. I heard it ran 12.X spinning 1st and second after I left. Haven't touch the pedal adjustment yet so it's still at stock pedal engagement.
