View Full Version : 2.4 Dyno Numbers
He actually only ran it up to 32psi. It only says ported 1g head too, it doesn't say how much porting is done. It probably doesn't have oversized valves either.
It gives me hope though, I want to hit 600 whp, but would settle for 550 whp. I would like to keep torque under 500 ft/lbs if possible. I know it is going to spool really early with my turbo (3600?) so that may not be possible.

Good luck keeping the trq down with that small exaust housing. My car made 464trq and 526whp at the first shop out in the middle of no where and exactly 10less hp and trq at Elite, so up that to a 2.4 and a turbo that will hit full boost befor 4800 and that meens a trq monster.

I think those 132mph traps are from his old set up.
On Dsmtunes he said he can't wait to take it to the track this year to see what she'll run. Which implies he hasn't tested it yet.

As I remember it, he ran his 10.8 when he was making mid 500s. With another 50 whp, he's good for high 130 traps. :dsmrule:

I don't tihnk you're gonna get 30 psi at 3600 rpm. I'd expect it more at 4k-ish on the street and 4600ish on the dyno. As for the tq "problem", just buy a honda then

It just cracks me up how everybody has a fear of torque. :goodluck: Shepherd makes close to 1000hp and alot more torque than any of us will probably ever go after on the same drivetrain and his stays together. Torque is what makes a car accelerate, if you think you'll make too much then turn the boost down. It would be more forgiving and simpler to tune.
Nash hits full boost at 4300 on a 2.0. People have seen drop in spool from 500 rpm to 1000 rpm, so 700 shouldn't be a big stretch.
If you think shep is running a stock driveline, you are mistaken. He has mismatched parts from different years and also different axles. I also don't have a fear of torque. My fear is that my exhaust side is too small and it will be knocking down my HP while raising my torque.

I don't know much about the setup other than what was posted in this thread and looking at the dyno chart. Does anyone know what tranny this guy is running? Is it a manual even? It says nothing about a clutch in his list and it does mention a tranny blanket which is more of an auto type mod. No scattershield is listed either. Just curious.

He's running a stock tranny with a welded center diff. I am almost sure he's running the 2900 if not still his 2600.

hey, if you want a 2.6, get a g54b and find an HKS dohc head, they are only like 10,000 bucks. a steal.
