Please explain to me how speed density is far superior to any airflow sensor and under what applications it is superior in.

...all due respect of course, I am all ears.

I was mostly just being a snide asshole with that comment. I just can't see giving up one of the best ECUs and best knock control ever for a lowend standalone on a car that has good options for it already. Swap in an Evo ECU, if you want all kinds of cool stuff to play with.

DSM ecu's run injectors sequential, not batch.

DSMLink can do speed density, but a MAF setup is superior for most street cars. We convert 80s Mustangs away from speed density to MAF setups often.

DSM ECU's can't directly run COP, but the stock ignition is great in the first place. Direct COP is often not better than a coil pack wasted spark setup.

Wideband is not important with the stock ECU, stock O2 sensor or none at all works fine.

DSMLink can't do flexfuel easy, but the difference between E70 and E80(I don't normally see over 805) isn't huge for most cars.

Don't forget, this is the same guy who drills holes in engine blocks because his car has other issues he'd rather not address...

hey hey hey!!! just because someone has a different take on the way to make a car perform doesnt mean we need to shoot him down! for all we know he may be onto the next great tune base for our loveable dsm! also everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i think that all should be heard!!!

My Megasquirt is doing full sequential injection with 1150cc...
It could run COP but I have it using the stock coil pack...

Also my ECU isn't Eprom (which I guess there is a fix for that) but that was my push to use this system at the time.

IMO Megasquirt is catching on (not so much with the DSM unless it has a 420a motor) and it is rapidly advancing from what it was originally. It is becoming so much more user friendly with tuner studio

Just putting in my 2cents

I really don't think MS2 or MicroSquirt is a low end system anymore

Maybe the MS1 chip with a V2.2 board is low end but what they have now is much better.

Good Luck running ITB's with your MAF

It's not. People are either confusing 'easier' with 'better' or are just plain inexperienced with the overall product. Now with MS3 just around the corner available as an add-in daughter board, we are really starting to compare apples to oranges. It's 2009... I choose control and flexibility with a vast and open ended user community. I choose MS.

I don't compeletely understand the question, but if you are asking if you just plug this box in and your car runs perfectly right out of the box without any user input at all, I'm going to go with no. You still need to open the program and set it up and modify it for your personal setup and plans you have in mind.
