Don't expect armchair republicans to have their facts straight. Actually, don't expect anyone posting on the internet to have their facts straight.

edit: lmao, this thread is funny, I'm really glad I didn't let myself get caught up in it so far. You guys have some of the dumbest ideas.

jrohner, for example wants poor guys running the country. Great idea! You know Bush v2.slow doubled the presidential salary? Yeah, from 200,000 to 400,000. If I was president, I'd do that shit for fucking free.

And to people like Matt and maybe vicious (sorry brah, I don't know your real name), when you say stuff like, "your leader" or "he's not my president" or anything to that effect, you are just chiseling away at the integrity of this country. grow the motherfuck up. George bush was my president as much as he was yours. I didn't like him, most people didn't, but it doesn't change the facts. If you are a citizen of this country, which most of you take for granted because you were born here, the president of the US is your prez. sheesh.

You see FBB, the greatest thing about this country is that you (at this time anyway) have the freedom to say your president is wrong, sucks, don't like him or what ever. It's called freedom for a reason. If you want to drink the Kool-Aide and be a good little sheep, then go ahead. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know we are heading in the wrong direction. If you are really so blind to the corruption and back room deals that are right out in the open with Obies administration, then there really is no hope for you and I'll just have to take your post concerning it as dribble. If Obie is soooo right for the country, why hasn't he gotten everything he's wanted? He owned the House and the Senate. Didn't need one Republican to get what he wanted. But even his fellow Democrats are saying he's going way too far to the left and causing him problems. There are many Dems that are relieved Scott Brown won because it in a way takes the heat off of them and the bill they really didn't care for is stopped. Even the things he did get are so pork laden it makes any other administration look like boy scouts.

His statement, "What do you think a stimulus bill is? It's a spending bill.", is wrong. What a stimulus really is, is the re-insertion of money back into the marketplace that never should have been taxed out of it in the first place. This country is riding a very thin line between taxation and economic collapse. The government can't keep pulling money away from the private sector like it is without causing major damage.

This is what can happen when you don't get to read a bill before it's passed.

Video from the article.

sorry we dont have a poll that is approval ratings for the "other" party.
Here's why partisan politics are a joke. Obama hasn't united jack shit. There is more disparity between the parties than ever before. Hopefully this helps explain why I'm not afraid to support someone who isn't full blooded democrat or republican.

did we forget about clinton? he was a democrat he turned a deficit into a 560 billion dollar SURPLUS.

Decent article with plenty of non-biased links that show the facts about his "surplus"

http://www.craigsteiner.us/articles/16

Basically he "borrowed" from our Social Security and imposed alot of cuts on our military. I wonder who got stuck with the bill for rebuilding and re-stocking our military?

This just in... http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/82583747.html

Obama to seek spending freeze

Under pressure over mammoth deficits, he would curtail spending on many domestic programs for three years.

Read the entire article, the good and the bad.

One thing that caught my eye...
The freeze would cover the agencies and programs for which Congress allocates specific budgets each year, from air traffic control and farm subsidies to education, nutrition and national parks.
Then goes on to say...
But it would exempt the Pentagon, foreign aid, Veterans Affairs and homeland security budgets, as well as the entitlement programs that make up the biggest and fastest-growing part of the federal budget: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

The payoff in budget savings would be small relative to the deficit: The estimated $250 billion in savings over 10 years is less than 5 percent of the $9 trillion to $10 trillion in additional debt the government is expected to accumulate over that time.
I applaud him for putting forth such an effort, but it's like he's campaigning all over again, sugar coating everything and trying to pull the wool over our eyes. I don't really know what to think.
