try a 95+ nissan 240sx? i have never driven a rwd car but driving the Tundra around in winter is quite easy, even in rough snow. the truck was only rwd to. I'm not sure about what the stock 240sx gets on the mpg's, but im sure it's better than our cars ;)

Thanks for the opinions guys, if I got a 240 naturally I would have to put an SR20 in it....or go all the way with a complete R34 GTR conversion.
And that would be the end of my savings account.
On the other hand, a RWD 4G63 only takes a Dodge D50 transmission ~$150
I am also a big fatass, but I prefer being in a tight car.

The problem with DD is that you really shouldn't touch them performance wise in my opinion.
At least in my experience, everything becomes a little more unreliable when I touch it.
Either that or have a backup car for when it does break.
Remember you only have two options to pick from, Performance, Cheap, Reliable
I am using a truck for a DD and I like driving around in it EXEPT for the 15mpg
I am looking for something that I can take on long trips and hoping it gets above 20mpg
Maybe an older BMW...
However a hatch of some sort wouldn't be bad but not a VW
a Mirage wouldn't be too bad either
What would be good to take on long trips?

Evo. Best DD I've ever ever ever had. Keep it very mildly modded and in good running shape and it'll be nice back for a long long time.

Evos are still relatively new and probably out of his budget comparing it to what he was looking at. Who knows if Evos will be any more reliable than dsms when they are over 10 years old.

Except for the intermittent freeze plug blowing out, interior wire corrosion, and pulley destruction right? :D
