I used TaxSlayer in the past and tried out TaxAct this time, that software found me almost $400 more in itemized deductions, I'm using that from now on. Thanks for the recommendation.
I filed this afternoon, federal and state were both accepted the same day, I should have $3500 by next Friday.

wow..jesus. I only itemized some things like my tools, union uniforms and etc..what all do you guys have to itemize to get that much?

Now THAT is how you are suspose to do it when you don't have a house.
I just got my last w2, so I am going to attempt to see how I did last year.

I believe owning a home, making large donations (to church, charities), having children helps I think...

The only things I itemize are my home loan interest (appx 10k), Property Taxes (appx 1700), and my license plate renewal (usually around 70).
That bumps my return up from around 1500 to over 5000.

just did my taxes.... State and federal combined is $6630!!
I used Taxact.com and was very happy with it. Its nice having a new son born in 2008!
Moving money here we come!

Glad that after mentioning TaxACT for 3 years, it's finally not just falling on deaf ears and people are having the same positive results I've had with it.
