You need to keep them separate or you loose the point of it being twin-scroll.

If you only run 1 on a divided manifold/turbo setup, you will either only be venting the exhaust gasses out of only half of the runners. Or if you setup the wg outlet pipe on the manifold to connect to both sides of the divide, well then it's really no longer fully divided now.
