my name is dustin, ive lived in minnesota all my life. i am 24 years old with a wife and 2 kids.

i would consider myself a jack of all trades when it comes to life in general, im excellent with computers, good with electronics, and decent with cars.

i work as a field install tech for a company called spartan computer services, i travel all over the US installing point of sale systems in restaurants.

i love sports, preferably hockey, im a die hard mn wild fan. i play world of warcraft in my spare time. i love fast cars, but im usually more of an "american muscle" kinds guy. ive owned 2 eclipses both dohc n/a.

first one i snapped the timing belt after owning it for 1 week.
second one the auto tranny went out after 2 weeks of ownership.

so needless to say my experiences with dsm thus far are not great.

this car i have now is my first 2g dsm. my other ones were 91 eclipses, this one is a 96 talon tsi awd.

seems like a nice car, but im pretty much clueless when it comes to import tuning and boost etc. i was a regular poster on ls1lt1.com when i owned my camaro.

really here to hook up with some people that know dsm's so i can learn a thing or three about diy because thats all i ever do.

just bought the car today, but its pretty sharp looking. from what i understand, all the work that was done to this vehicle was done at DB performance.

so if anyone is finding themselves bored tomorrow (friday) and wants to teach me a thing or two about dsm tuning/gauge hookup, i would greatly appreciate it. ill even bring a case of beer with if you would like.

i can teach you stuff you dont know and i do tons of computer/electronics/car audio work. so maybe we could work something out.

the issues im having with this vehicle are as follows:

im getting fuel cut without a ton of boost, the previous owner told me its because i dont have an adjustable fuel regulator, and the psi's are set very low because of that..

now after some online research, i came to the conclusion that theres too much air going through the manifold instead of not enough, and its not getting enough fuel.

i also have a 3 gauge pillar i have no idea how to hook up.

also needs a rear drivers side wheel bearing which i plan on doing myself at some point tomorrow.

basically i need someone to show me how to hook up the air/fuel meter, and the boost meter, and then help me to tune the psi's to the point where im not getting fuel cut cause im scared to shit im going to blow the engine.

thanks for your time, and i hope to get to know many of you not only here on the site, but also meet some people in person who enjoy these vehicles as much as i do.

Welcome! Search around here for info on installing boost and a/f gauges. There's plenty of us around to answer all the questions you could possibly come up with. Post up some pics of your ride! Does it have a stock turbo or something bigger, like a 16g? This could be the reason for you hitting fuel cut. If you have a full list of mods, that would be helpful too.

Be sure to read the forum rules on spelling/grammer/etc.

i will post everything i know to the best of my ability,

it has a garrett t28r turbo and an evo manifold.

manual boost controller, now sure on the brand of the BOV

i believe the exhaust is an apexi n1 or w/e

stage 2 clutch with short throw shifter.

i know the engine was rebuilt and a lot of the work was done by DB but i dont have exact specs on it.

its also lowered 3-4 inches.

i know its got about 600 miles on the rebuild, and i believe that the internals were done right but im not 100% on it.

he said he had the psi's turned down way low because it needed a fuel pressure regulator to feed more fuel into it.

he also said it had large injectors, not sure how many cc's 600 is ringing a bell but not 100%

basically i need help installing the a/f meter, and the boost meter so i can tune the psi's to the right setting.

the previous owner failed to mention the fuel cut to me before the sale, so when it happened it startled me, ive never had that happen before.

Well if it has bigger injectors but no way to control them that could be an issue as well. Welcome though
