I used to snowboard. I bought everything I think 2 years ago but I never have time anymore and my ass always hurts for days because I still suck at it. So if anyone is looking for a good set up that is still basically new for their gf or something let me know :)

Just wanna let you all know I'm in montana right now. Went to blacktail mtn the other day and it was kinda a downer. $28 got you a day pass but the bottom of the mtn was closed so there wasn't much to ride. I was at big mtn/whitefish mtn yesterday and that was the best snow I've ever ridden on in my life, and I've been to some bigger place: vail, breck, big sky, bridger, keystone... The only downer (and it was a big one) was that it was so cloudy and foggy you couldn't see more than 40 feet in front of you at times. Hopefully it clears up tomorrow

Ah, I used to live right by Bridger Bowl. Almost worked there.

If you want to save a few bucks you can go to Moonlight Basin instead of Big Sky in that area. Smaller, but plenty of runs and on the same mountain.

The snow really depends on when you go. Nearly every single year at Targhee we get a couple feet of snow the week we are there, plus several feet before we get there, so it's incredible. However, last year they were really light on snow early in the season, so everything was moguled up, or groomers, which suck. So it was pretty average skiing most of the week, until the last two days it snowed a foot overnight each day, made up for the early week. Even then you still caught a little mogul under the powder.

I think I was at Big Mtn. two years ago visiting my uncle and I wasn't impressed, mostly because it was overcrowded when I went over Christmas break and there was no good snow. Timing is everything when it comes to your opinion of a place I guess.
