I was just wondering if anyone here has had Lasik (or any kind of) eye surgery. Where did you get it done? What doctor did you have? Are you happy with it?

If you haven't had it done, hav you ever thought of doing it? Do you know anyone who has had it done.

I guess I'm just trying to gather opinions and stories on eye surgery vs. contacts or glasses.

I've been wanting to get it done for a while, I just haven't had the chance yet. A friend of mine's dad got it done, and he's very happy with the results. Also, the wife of one of my co workers had it done, and she is also happy. They both said that the only problem with it is that they had trouble driving at night for a week or so afterwards.

I have had it for 6 years. It is some of the best money I have ever spent. I am not always 20/20, but I don't ever really feel like I need glasses again. If your eyes get dry your vision goes downhill some. My night vision has suffered some, but it is well worth it. The lasers are also much better now than when I got mine done. Mine was done at Philips Eye Institute

My dad did it a few years ago. 100% happy with it.

I've looked into it a little but before anything I'd need to get my consultation done. I can't even put contacts in my eyes, let alone think about going that.

My sister had her eyes done about 2 years ago, and she's so happy she went through with it. I can find out where she went, but I think it was some place in Edina. It was pretty expensive, but she had really bad eyesight before (nearly blind).

I would consider, but I haven't been wearing contacts/glasses that long (maybe 15 years, I think towards the end of 8th grade was when my eyes started). I can go without, and manage around the house. My sister was so bad that she couldn't see the alarm clock next to her in bed.

My pa got it done down in La Crosse. It's supposedly the best place to get it done. I just got the OK to go ahead with it. Eventually I'll do it, but I just don't have the time. Research on which place to go and what the side effects might be. Some are not good at all. It's really not a procedure that I'd trust with the cheapest place.

I dont know anyone who has, but my mom has been threatening to for a looong time. Where I would love to not have to have glasses or contacts anymore, I am sorta knife/needle-phobic so surgery would be bad enough as it is, but this isnt one you can just close your eyes and look away from. Yeah, I doubt I will ever get it done.
