Highschool shop teacher swears by it. It is the ONLY thing he will run in his diffs, engine, trans. He has a late 80s sururban with 350+k(that was when I graduated in summer of 03) and still had the original engine/trans/diffs. Used it to haul cars all over the country with it too. I have never used it but those who have seem to swear by it.
But anyway, Thor06, if you are doubting yourself on this build I would atleast pay someone who knows what they are doing to look over your shoulder during the build. In my opinion, building an engine is fairly simple, you just have to have the proper knowledge and tools to get it done correctly.

I've never heard of Schaeffer oil so I cant hardly imagine me putting it in the car with out quite a few recommedations from well respected DSMers.
Tim, I think that is a good idea. I'm not worried about my mechanical abilities, but seeing as how I've never done it before I cant be too careful. I want to build this myself for a couple reasons, one being money but also because I have always wanted to do and it would be good experience for the future. Its not so much the money though, if I really didnt think I could pull it off I would just save a bit longer. Again, thanks everyone for their input, I appreciate it.
