View Full Version : Duluth Vacation Help
The Old Lady and I are planning a trip up to Duluth area for a week or so in late November early December to do some skiing, eating and relaxing. Just wondering if anyone on here can recommend some good places to stay, eat or see. Thanks for the help. :)

Shit yeah I can help, I lived in the hole of a town for 5 years! You are pretty limited in the winter though. Are the both of you 21+?
If you dont want to stay in town I know of a decent place.
It is just north of Duluth on the shore and is a little resort. I stayed there a couple of years ago during the off season and it was very cheap. They are 2 room "cabins" that have a full kitchen and little living room. It isnt a 'fun' place but more of a relaxing place away from town.
It is called Lake Breeze Resort.
I did a search on yellowpages.com and copied the link. Not sure if the link will work though.

Yep. Anything you can recommend would be great.
Tim-thanks for the suggestion we'll check it out and see what it's like.
I know that there probably isn't much to do in the winter besides ski and eat but hopefully we'll be able to find something to do even if it's just sit in front of a fireplace and have a relaxing drink.

When my Fam goes up there we stay at "The Inn on lake superior" in canal park. Its a really nice hotel and Grandmas is right across the street which is a pretty good place to eat.
My g/f and I go up every year for my bday. We stay at Fitgers, really nice hotel and they have restraunts and everything connected so you don't have to go outside! It isn't cheap, but very nice. There is even a microbrew in the complex.

Fitgers Brewhouse is a really good restaurant, and some of their beers are great too (others are lowsy though, so choose wisely!).
You have to check out the Anchor Bar in Superior though, its a definite dive bar, but the burgers are so damn good and cheap everone loves it!
I love a good dive burger. Thanks guys, I'll check these out.

Go a little farther north and stay at Lutsen. Skiing plus a resort right on the lake. Absolutely beautiful in the winter and a very short drive from Grand Marais which is absolutely worth spending a day in.
