Yes, that is a high-flow cat. I wanted to see how well it worked being 'street legal' :)
No need to become a tree hugger now! Just gut that cat and let your car breath! :D

Hey, if I can make kick ass power with an environmentally friendly exhaust, then I will! :) Really, I just want something a little more tame at speed, as I'll be driving a lot in this thing! There are other options, but I thought I'd go this route first.
This is the Buschur 3" turbo back exhaust, with their new 'bullet' muffler. I bolted on the cat and cat-back tonight, and it sounds VERY nice! Definitly a power bump, but the stock downpipe is gonna be a restriction. I ran into some trouble with the downpipe-to-o2 housing bolts are weird, they have a sort of spring wrapped around them. Anyways, I stripped one of the bolts. :(

Yeah, seems those springs are a pain in the ass. Notice how a lot of manufacturers are going to a flex section in the DP so you can eliminate the springs.

Look who's got a EVO in his Avitar...should be yellow though:D
Really not that many of the DP manufactures are going to flex sections, it seams it just the no-name companies. Although I'd prefer the extra security of a flex section. And my car came without the spring dealies:rolleyes:

Hrm, looky looky what showed up at my doorstep when I got home tonight:

So, I cleaned up after a long-ass day at work (14 hours or so?), hung out with Anna and turbo for a bit, and then got busy. I didn't take off the front bumper yet, but I got the mini-battery kit in (this is all I *was* going to do tonight...), the upper and post-intercooler lower piping, forge bov, and the intake pipe all installed. Took a little longer than I thought it would, but then again I don't want to have to tighten anything while on the side of the road tomorrow (knock on wood!)
I officially HATE the stupid plastic clips that hold the ffing undertray on the car, what a ffing pain in the ass. They are teh ghey. If anyone can come up with an alternate solution to mount that undertray securely and that can be easily removeable, they would make a fortune off of all evo owners.

These are all Buschur Racing parts, btw.
Wow, very nice. Whats next 10cm hotside or a whole different turbo all together?
Moving along nicely though. I'd give you a thumb up but there isnt a smilie for that yet:rolleyes:

The car is an 05, so it already has the 10cm hotside ;)

be careful of the tabs breaking off of that frontmount. Where's the after pics? Did you mount it straight? Next step, 280 cams, and aem?

Don't expect the new FMIC to do much of anything until you get a big turbo on there.
